Best Detector Yet!!

Overall great detector. The ability to mute any signal, and permanently block a false signal is a great benefit for anyone that drives in a city frequently and sick of the same false alarms by security systems, etc. This one has the speed camera function but I have not utilized it as there are no none cameras in my area. The 9500i is a great option if you are not worried about speed cameras as it is the same detector otherwise, $50 less, and comes in Red.
Detection wise, this detector cannot be beat. Warning sounds literally miles before you come across the approaching police car. It is expensive, but with Radar Detectors, you get what you pay for.
I have used this detector and other Escort models for the past 5 years, and have yet to receive a ticket! It has paid for itself in missed tickets.
What's great about it: Mute feature, and ability to permanently block repeated false alarms
What's not so great: GPS signal is sometimes slow to connect, and drops signal occasionally
I would recommend this to a friend!

Passport 8500 X50 Red designed for the driving enthusiast, the Passport 8500 X50 delivers the best possible protection in its class. In test after test, the Passport 8500 X50 comes out on top. Digital signal processing (DSP) provides maximum range, with minimum false alarms.

Another Great Product from Escort!

This is one of the best radar detectors on the market in my opinion. The detector gives you ample warning. It sometimes gives so much advanced warning that I start to think its a false alarm and then FINALLY, the police car comes into site. It also alerts you of emergency response vehicles that are equipped with that technology. The only negative I care to mention is the sensitiveness to store alarm systems. the same beeping everyday in the same spot on my way to and from work/class gets old rather quickly. However, it blocks out a lot of the alarm systems that past radar detectors used to pick up.
What's great about it: superb detection and advanced warning
What's not so great: still prone to false alerts in city driving
I would recommend this to a friend!

compatibilty

are laptops bought in USA compatible with the UK
You'll need an adapter that will fit into their specific style of outlets, but yes, they will work. Most power adapters that come with laptops are rated for 110-240volts, which falls within UK voltage range. Always read the fine print on your adapter just to make sure of the range.

what is difference in memory description?

What is difference in memory that is described as DDR2 vs SDRAM? is one better than other?
DDR and SDRAM are two different types of memory. The main differences are in their "footprints" or their physical design. The number of pins varies between the two as does the notches.

Performance wise, DDR = Double SDR= Single. So DDR is typically the best, but that can depend on the bit rate, and other compatibility issues.

DDR2 is just the second series of DDR, there is now DDR3 available, and DDR4 will likely appear sometime within the next year or so as it has already been announced.

When do I get Windows 7

I purchased a Dell laptop on 07/29/09. And I registered for a free upgrade to Windows 7. When will I get that??
That is up to each computer manufacturer. You should contact Dell and see when they intend on shipping Windows 7 discs since they are now available.
