Finally, Power and Portability in a Gaming Laptop

The Lenovo Legion Y530 is a powerful laptop with a sleek design. This is my first gaming laptop, mostly because I had not found a good hybrid between gaming power and portability until now. I find it to be just thin and light enough to consider it portable, which is great because I am on the go quite often. Although color scheme is not a priority of mine, I like the subtle black exterior with a white illuminated keyboard and logo on the lid. Most of the ports are on the back of the laptop, the impressively effective cooling fans are underneath, and the power button is in the middle above the keyboard. Typing and using the various keys on the keyboard is easy thanks to the sufficient spacing and key size. My only complaint is that the touchpad feels a bit awkward to use due to the location, size, and left/right click buttons instead of a touchpad that clicks down, but that feeling has improved as I have gotten used to it. However, while at home, I prefer to use a mouse. Overall, I think the Lenovo Legion Y530 is a well-designed laptop.

Even standard use, such as browsing the internet or watching videos, is enjoyable due to the speed and quality of the content displayed on the screen.

If you usually use headphones, this may not matter much, but I was expecting better sound quality, especially since it is highlighted as a feature of this Lenovo Legion Y530. Phenomenal Panoramic Sound

This soundbar is sleek and well-built with mostly metal and a black finish, so it looks and feels like a premium product. Its low-profile design pairs well with my thin TV and it fits perfectly below. Some soundbars can be a bit too tall or not look good by a TV, but that is not the case for this soundbar. On the right side of the soundbar, there is the power, source, and volume controls, but those can also be controlled from the included remote. Nearby, there is a display that shows the input, volume, or sound mode when changing them. A nice aspect about the display is that it is not always on and blends in to the soundbar so that it is not noticeable. As for the subwoofer, it has basic rectangular design with the same black finish as the soundbar. It is rather large, but for the bass it produces, I do not mind the size. One of my favorite things about the subwoofer design is that it is wireless. You still need to plug it in to a power source, but it being wireless provides a lot of flexibility.

Hand Scrubbing and Mopping No More!

With the countless number of vacuums on the market, I feel that the amount of effective solutions for hard floor cleaning is lacking. That is one reason why I was excited to see a vacuum-like device made by Bissell hit the market. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised to find many excellent features built into the design. First and foremost, the Bissell SpinWave is cordless and easy to carry around when not in use, so I would consider it convenient. The SpinWave seems well built but also relatively lightweight, which adds to the ease of carrying it from room to room as well as the ability to maneuver it across the floor. Additionally, cleaning around chairs or other objects is simplified by the swivel steering mechanism. Finally, the solution spray button and on/off button are both conveniently located on the handle. I have no complaints about the design.

SimpliSafe gives you the ability to set up your own home security system, and this was neither difficult nor time-consuming. I actually enjoyed it! Upon opening the box, I found each device to be well-presented and clearly labeled. As expected, there are instructions included, which are clear and concise. Pulling out the plastic tab on each device activates the batteries, then you place each device in the appropriate locations and connect them wirelessly. There is not much more to it than that! The simplicity seemed too good to be true, but it was truly that simple.

The sleek and cylindrical design of the Garmin Speak Plus minimizes windshield space that is taken up, and the display is just large enough to easily see directions that are displayed. With this being a dashcam, GPS and voice assistant all in one, I am impressed by the small size. What I dislike about the design is the power cord. Asking questions and playing games like trivia make extended drives more enjoyable. So far, I have not had any connectivity issues that would inhibit Alexa from responding to my requests.

Upon opening the box, there are instructions, the lamp, and a Hue Ambiance 60-watt light bulb. Setup was quite simple since all that is required is screwing on the light bulb and lampshade, plugging the lamp in and connecting it to a Hue Bridge (not included). The lamp has a modern design with white matte glass and a black wooden base. It does seem well built compared to other lamps of this size and the tight seal between the base and glass cover prevents dust collection on the inside. Overall, I appreciate the simple setup and like the design of this lamp, but since the design is very modern looking, it might not fit the decor style of every home.

Bitdefender Total Security is straightforward and easy to navigate. I do not feel overwhelmed by the number of settings or features, and I like that there are tabs along the left side of the screen to categorize them. I primarily use the protection and tools tabs, but there is also privacy, activity, account info, settings, and support. Bitdefender did well incorporating many excellent features into Total Security while also keeping the interface user-friendly.

Upon opening the box, I noticed that this BenQ projector has a compact and lightweight design, which makes it portable and unobtrusive. It is almost entirely white with some gray/silver accent coloring, and the material feels like a durable plastic. For now, I have it resting on a small nightstand in our basement and it looks great. To provide ventilation, each side of the projector has slated openings. It can get warm after extended use, but I feel that it does a decent job regulating its internal temperature, so I do not foresee it ever overheating. The functional buttons on the top of the projector are rubberized, easy to press and self-explanatory. There are several different input options, but I especially like that there are dual HDMI inputs. This allows me to have two devices plugged in at once without needing to swap the HDMI cord each time I want to use the other device. Overall, BenQ did a fantastic job at designing this projector for portability, functionality, and durability.

The Sony 1000X headphones have introduced me to the innovation of completely wireless headphones, and I am not sure that I will ever be able to go back to wired. The convenience and comfort alone are enough reason for me to recommend these but there is much more to like about these headphones, which I will get to later. As mentioned, the headphones fit securely and comfortably. I can wear them for an extended period of time without them hurting my ears, and they fit securely so I have no worries about them falling out, even when moving around. I only have one small complaint about the design. The blue light that flashes on the left when the headphones are on seems unnecessary and draws attention. Other than that, I think these are well-designed headphones that look and feel great.

Yes, you must have an internet service for this Orbi system to work. The Orbi transmits WiFi signal so that you can connect wireless devices in your home, but you must have an internet connection for that to work. I hope this helps!
