Men in Black II comes to DVD with an anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Subtitles are accessible in both of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by director Barry Sonnenfeld, a handful of featurettes covering every aspect of the film's production, a music video from Will Smith, multi-angle options on some scenes, and filmographies. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access a game, the film's script, and screensavers for a PC. This is a superb release from Columbia/TriStar.

A fixture of stages worldwide since its London premiere over 100 years ago, the timeless tale of Peter Pan once again gets the big-screen treatment in this lavish release from Universal Studios. With a pan-and-scan image presented in 1.33:1 full-frame, viewers can join our brave young hero as he faces off against the villainous Captain Hook. Audio is offered in both closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French Dolby Digital 5.1 with optional Spanish and French subtitles. For those looking for something a bit more from their DVDs, this disc also offers a slew of bonus features that are bound to entertain. After checking out some deleted scenes and an alternate ending in "The Darling House," viewers can "Board the Pirate Ship" and view some behind-the-scenes home movie footage from star Jason Isaacs. "Explore Neverland Forest" takes the adventurous viewer through the enchanted world of fairies, and after exploring the flying school training camp and the mysterious mermaids in "The Black Castle," "Dig Into the Home Under the Ground" joins Dutchess Sarah Ferguson as she explores the origins of the story of Peter Pan.

Perfect Family Movie

This movie is the perfect family flick. It's great for kids, and still gives humor and smiles to adults that the original Disney Peter Pan gave us. A must-get film!

Episode I of the Star Wars films comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer that fails to preserve the original theatrical aspect ratio of the movie. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital 2.0. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by George Lucas and many of the people who worked behind the camera on the film, deleted scenes, storyboards, numerous featurettes, a music video, trailers, and a 12-part documentary that was produced for the Internet. This is a great disc for what it is, but the same extras are available on another edition that also has a widescreen image. That version is superior to this one.

Not the Best We've Seen

Even though I am an all-time star wars fan, this movie has got to be the worst of them. There is not enough action and it has a slow story line. However, it does have good Special Features that make up for the horrible script. Also, it is Pan and Scan, which makes it better! So, overall, just an ok movie, but I would still buy it, even if just to complete your Star Wars collection!
What's great about it: Pan and Scan, Special Features
What's not so great: Worst star Wars movie

Chris Columbus' wildly successful adaptation of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English and Spanish soundtracks are rendered in DD-EX 5.1. Subtitles are accessible in both of those languages. Supplemental materials include a handful of interactive activities and games, deleted footage, and a tour of Hogwarts. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access trading cards, sign up for Harry Potter emails, and play additional games.

It nearly took Hogwarts-type magic to contain all the extras Warner Home Video packed into the two-disc Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Warner spared nothing in the creation of this disc. Presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, the colors pop and the blacks appear deep and rich. The Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround is an amazing audio experience, capturing every explosion and each whisper. English closed captions, English subtitles, French subtitles, and Spanish subtitles are also included. Disc one contains nothing more than the movie, the cast and crew listings, and a couple of trailers. But pop disc two into the DVD player and sit back for a magical experience. Nineteen deleted scenes are presented in anamorphic widescreen. The entertaining "Conversation with J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves," focuses on the process of adapting the books for the screen. The "Interviews with Students, Professors & More" contains a collection of cast members reminiscing about their filming experiences. Viewers can embark on a 3-D interactive journey in "Dumbledore's Office." Not only does this extra look amazing, but it's an incredibly enjoyable, educating experience. The first choice in this feature is "Build a Scene." This lengthy featurette takes a look at the entire production process by analyzing one location, Dumbledore's office, and everything in it. Interviews with both director Chris Columbus and crew members are included. In the second part, "Tour Dumbledore's Office," viewers can embark on a three-dimensional tour of the room. Enjoyable for fans of Kenneth Branagh is the feature "Gilderoy Lockhart's Classroom." The "Spellcaster Knowledge Challenge" is a nifty little trivia game. As far as DVD-ROM features are concerned, Warner stepped up to the plate in this game, too. From weblinks to an animated Hogwarts timeline, the computer-based features are plenty. But the rather magical "One Voice DVD technology" is amazing, allowing users to navigate through all the DVD-ROM features using their voices. Printable trading cards, games, and jigsaw puzzles round out the features.
