Not many sequels live up to the original. Resistance2 defies this. Graphics aside, Resistance2 is an amazing game that will keep you entertained for hours on end. The storyline picks up almost right where the first game left off, and throws you back into the action almost immediately. The sheer scale of this game is nearly overwhelming as vast landscapes threaten to swallow you whole! Massive Chimeran airships pepper the skyline as far as the eye can see, all while wave after wave of enemies attact from all directions- it truely is a sigh to behold! Controls in this game are a spot-on lift from the original and feel just as right as they did before, though the lack of anything really new or special is a bit of a letdown. The online multiplayer modes and ability to link up to your PSP copy of Resistance:Retribution add a bit of variety to an otherwise straightforward experience, and give you reason to keep coming back for more! Resistance2 is definately not a game to be missed- anyone who's played the first Resistance should be ashamed not to have this sitting on their shelf next to it!
What's great about it: INCREDIBLE Graphics, Great Storyline
What's not so great: Not A Lot Of Innovation, Could Have Been Longer

It features an aiming sight that increases accuracy and a tactile trigger that activates the "B" button.Perfect Shot also has an accessory pass-through port for use with other attachments. This is the peripheral Nintendo should have made but didn't! While I love the Wii Zapper, games like House of the Dead and Ghost Squad are MUCH easier to play with the Perfect Shot! The crossbow/submachine gun feel of the Wii Zapper is perfectly suited for Link's Crossbow Training (duh) and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, but as for good old fashioned pistol whipping goes, the Perfect Shot can't be beat! The best part is, you can still attatch accessories such as the nunchuck from the bottom if you need to thanks to the a pass-through connector! The only (small) flaw I find with the Perfect Shot is that the unit feels a little top heavy when you have a Wiimote inserted. Its not enough to be bothersome so I won't dock a star or anything, but it is worth noting.

I swear- between this, Transformers, and the announcement of a Ghostbusters video game, its been like my childhood all over again! All we need now is something Thundercats related and I'll be all set! ----- TMNT is a welcome return of the Turtles to the big screen. The voices chosen for the characters are all spot-on (though I do wonder who they'll pick to fill Mako's legendary shoes for the sequel?). At times, the story seems to be a bit drawn-out for the Turtles' normal pace, while curiously, some of the scenes fly by without much explanation (such as the monster capturing scenes) which I would rather have seen extended a little more. The strong parts of this movie fall on awesome soundtrack, the CGI, and the intense duel between Leo and Raph which really steals the show! Sadly, Mike and Don don't really seem to play too big a part here, perhaps that will be rectified in the sequel? As for the rest, well, you'll just have to decide for yourself! Turtle fans, don't pass this one up!
What's great about it: Great Soundtrack, Excellent CGI
What's not so great: Story A Little Slow At Times For Turtles' Normal Pace

When my girlfriend and I saw this in the theater, we both knew we couldn't wait to take it home! Not to say that I haven't enjoyed Smith's previous works, but I Am Legend is even better! The storyline is very true to the book, and while it certainly isn't what I think will be for everyone, Smith definately draws you in with a very real and human take on dealing with his situation. The special effects are great and the controversial ending is definately that- we've had many an arguement spark in our apartment as to which ending is better! You even have the option to watch it as a different side to the movie! I Am Legend is arguably Smith's greatest movie to date. He has certainly grown as an actor from his beginnings in Men In Black and Wild Wild West. This, along with I, Robot and The Pursuit Of Happiness, are genuine performances that are on my list of favorites for sure!
What's great about it: Excellent Acting, Gripping Storyline

There's really not much for me to say about this box set- if you liked the Resident Evil movies, this is the way to go! All three movies are great, and the open-ending in the third will leave you begging for more! Milla Jovovich does a excellent job in all three movies, though I preferred her character in the first two a little more than the third. Her PK twist seemed to change her. I also enjoyed the integration of the characters from the series. Many of them (Guillory, Fehr, and Larter) were dead-on ringers for their video game counterparts (Valentine, Olivera, and Redfield)! That's not to say I didn't have a few qualms with the movies. In the first movie, the zombies have a great special effects filled introduction that seemed to die off as the movie progressed. In the second, the Nemesis really wasn't all that fluid- it looked and moved like a big rubber puppet. In the third, the monster variety just simply took a nosedive. Minor things at best, but still- I hate it whenever it seems like a movie cut corners just to get things done. Overall though, I loved these movies, and finding them together in one pack is what its all about! At a price cheaper than the three individually, I fall back into my chime about value- and that's what makes me buy stuff more than anything!
What's great about it: Three Great Movies, One Low Price
What's not so great: What Happens When 4 Comes Out?
Based on the popular horror game, Radha Mitchell (Man on Fire) and Sean Bean (National Treasure) star in this action thriller about a town possessed by the damned and a mother who must survive it in order to save her forsaken daughter.

For the most part, I don't put much faith in movies derived from video games. Its not that I don't think they have the potential to be great, its just that they usually fail to provide the same experience in 2 hours that a video game can take 20 or 30+ to convey. This is where Silent Hill is unique. Not only does it manage to portray the eerie atmosphere of Silent Hill with great accuracy, but it does so in a one-shot deal (not that I'm not hoping for a sequel!). Throughout the movie, different creatures from the game make their debut- and do it in such a perfectly realistic way you would almost believe it to be true were it happening right in front of you! The special effects in Silent Hill are top-knotch and never fail to draw you into the on-screen action! While the ending falls into letdown territory, its not because its a bad ending- just a sad one! In the grand scheme of things though, its a perfectly fitting ending that I don't think could have been done as well any other way!

I bought this for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day, along with Surf's Up & March Of The Penguins (what? she likes penguins!). I figured a penguin 3-pack would make a great gift- I was right! ----- Happy Feet is a very cute, very funny movie that does not fail to impress! From the moment the movie starts, you'll be taken in by the incredible visuals and spot-on voice acting, not to mention the music selection! Happy Feet is just one of those movies that BEGS to be watched in surround sound! You can't help but get into almost every song these musical penguins sing and in Mumble's case, dance to! Each actor voices their character perfectly- I especially enjoyed Jackman's approach! The only complaint I have is Williams' dual-voice role. The two characters he voiced were so similar they are easily confused if you just happen to be up getting a drink during their interaction (which I was). Other than that, I loved this movie and so did she! From the jokes to the action, and the feel-good emotion all around- this movie is great for all ages and one that the whole family will enjoy!
What's great about it: Great Music Selection, Voice Acting, Visuals
What's not so great: Robin Williams Doing Two Voices?

House Of Wax is a movie I'd reccommend to NOONE. The movie's greatest strength is also its biggest weakness and to me- its ultimate downfall. The special effects were great, but the movie was just so disturbing I almost couldn't watch the entire thing. The acting wasn't bad, it just left you asking yourself 'why would you even do that' over and over again! The situations the characters found themselves in had obvious outs, but ironically enough Hilton seemed to be the only one smart enough to do something about it! This led to one brutally, disturbing death after another. While I did enjoy the story, I just couldn't stomach the special effects. This is one of those few movies that actually manages to go too far in its realism. Like Hostel, the torturous scenes reach deep inside you and pull out your darkest fears in ways that go beyond movie enjoyment. I'm sure this movie is one that many liked, and would gladly watch again and again, but I am not one of them, and I will not.
What's great about it: Excellent Special Effects, Good Story
What's not so great: Predictability, Disturbing On Practically Every Level

It took me a year to go back to eating doughnuts after this movie. Still gives me chills just thinking about it. But if you haven't seen this awesome movie yet, then you have no idea what I'm talking about (and maybe its better that way?). As one of Reynolds' first big movies, Van Wilder does nothing if capture the unique experience of college life. Have you ever had that one friend who was great with the ladies and could seemingly get away with everything? That's Van Wilder! While his character may be a little far-fetched, he is no less hysterical in everything he does. Whether its schmoozing his way around campus, or getting even with frat boys (DOUGHNUTS!), Reynolds displays an attitude that few can acheive without going over the top. The only thing that really slows the movie down is the development of his relationship with Reid's character. Dipping into borderline romantic comedy territory, it doesn't quite fit with the flow of the movie, but the experience remains positive nonetheless. Any way you slice it, Van Wilder is one of those movies that's great to watch whenever you need a laugh!
Will Ferrell stars in this film about NASCAR. Extras include deleted scenes, gag reel, extended cut with never-before-seen footage, additional deleted scenes, outtakes, and more.

Man I love my PlayStation3! World's cheapest Bluray player and I even get a free Bluray movie for my first taste of full high-definition glory! But wait- no HDMI cable in the box? Not even component cables?? What gives!? ----- Ok, I'm done beating the poor, dead horse... ----- All joking aside, I was actually very excited to open up the box to my PS3 and find this neat little freebie inside! Kinda made that whole 'campin out all night in the freezing cold' thing seem a little more worth it! As a general neutral to all things Will Ferrell, I didn't expect much from Talladega Nights- though not going into the movie with high expectations is probably what allowed me to enjoy it so much! This is definately one of Ferrell's funnier movies and one I probably would have bought had it not been included when I got my PS3. From the first race, to his fall from grace, Ferrell's unique sense of humor plays the perfect part to it all. Aside from a few so-bad-its-funny special effects (which I'm sure were intentional), there's really not much I can fault this movie for. Pretty good acting and one-liners aplenty, if you are a fan of Will Ferrell, this is a movie I'm sure you'll enjoy over and over again!
What's great about it: Funny Movie, Great Outtakes, Included Free With My PS3!
