A cooking rat. As one who appreciates irony, I figured this was a movie I was NOT going to want to miss. Crafted by the same team who's brought us movies such as Cars, Toy Story, and The Incredibles (which I'm STILL waiting for on Bluray, I might add!), I knew the chances of being disappointed were slim to none. Boy, was I right! From the very intro to the movie, you can see Remy's story starting to build. His drive to become what he loves most is so strong, his rodent status is almost a non-issue to him- only humans persist in reminding him! As his friendship with Linguini progresses, you do start to wish the story would move a little faster, but at no time does it really drag. Ratatouille is a truly charming movie and one that I will no doubt watch again and again for some time (especially because of how much much my girlfriend loves it)!
What's great about it: Classic PIXAR Charm, Surprisingly Entertaining
What's not so great: A Little Slow Progressing At Times

Open Season is not by any means a bad movie. The CGI is excellent and the cast provides the characters with great personalities, but there's just not much beyond that. Its a simple movie that kids will enjoy which makes it fun for the whole family. Many laughs to be found here, just nothing too terribly memorable. I watched it once, enjoyed it, and then put it on the shelf- haven't touched it since. I think I was just eager to build my Bluray collection when it first came out since not much was available. Now that the novelty of Bluray has worn off a little, I'd be more than willing to put this on my rental list than to just buy it outright. Still, its worth checking out- so have a family movie night and enjoy!
What's great about it: Great Voice Acting, Wonderful CGI
What's not so great: A Little Short, Not Much Storyline Or Character Development

Spider-Man swings onto Bluray in style! I've thoroughly enjoyed all three of these movies, and while I won't sit here and argue which one is the best (#2! #2!), I will say this box set is the way to go! Granted, I got this from my brother for Christmas, but I was getting ready to buy it due to its value price versus the three when purchased separately anyway! All three movies had great storylines and acting to match, and the special effects blew me away on more than one occassion! The Bluray visuals in this set are very crisp and really bring the detail to life, and the excellent score and dynamic flow of music seemed to accompany each and every scene perfectly! All-in-all, EVERY movie lover should have this set in their collection!
What's great about it: Great Action, Great Story, Great Special Effect

When my girlfriend got me this for Christmas, the first thing that went through my head was 'alright- T2 on Bluray!' After less than an hour into the movie though, my feelings had changed. Don't get me wrong- this is still one of the most awesome movies of all time, but after seeing the extended edition on DVD, I was disappointed to see all those deleted scenes left out of the movie all over again! I really thought that would at least be an option, given the capacity Bluray disks, but I guess not! I mean, when you pick up new copies of Aliens, its still got that extra 27 min of footage in there- its just a staple anymore! Why they would choose to do this to T2's Bluray debut is beyond me!? Left out footage aside, I can agree that while this may be an older movie, there was still some left to be desired on the conversion to high-def. I won't say it looks as bad as DVD, but it certainly doesn't look as good as, say CRANK or something more recent. Even if you don't already have a copy of Terminator 2, I'd say go ahead and wait for the extended version- it will be money better spent!
What's great about it: Awesome Movie That Still Gives Me Chills
What's not so great: Where's All The Extra Scenes?

When two of the biggest companies in history team up, you just KNOW its gonna be something special! This combination of the Final Fantasy series with Disney characters and charm is nothing short of SPECTACULAR! From the first moment you take up the Keyblade and fight with Goofy and Donald at your side, you will be completely drawn in as you journey from one world to the next, meeting many of your favorite Disney and FF characters along the way. Excellent voice acting (many times from the original voice actors) further enhances your experience. If there is one thing I could have done without, it was the annoying Gummi Ship sequences as you travelled from one world to the next. Obviously, I was not alone in this feeling as SquareSoft chose to remove them from the sequel altogether, so I'll just deal with it for now. If you've ever had a love for anything Disney OR Final Fantasy, do yourself a favor and pick this game up- you will NOT be disappointed!

I picked up Big Brain Academy because of the friendly low price, but stayed for the challenging mini-games. BBA features a number of ways to 'train your brain' by forcing you to use deductive reasoning along with math and a few other skills to keep up with, and master, its many games. The only real downside is that once you've seen what it has to offer (usually just by going through the game once), all that's left is to continue to train by playing the same tests over and over again. Granted, I still haven't mastered ALL the tests, but besides the daily quick tests, there's really not much here for me. A value price gains back a star for an otherwise 3-star game!
What's great about it: Challenging Fun To Keep You Hooked
What's not so great: Not Much Variety Leads To Repetition

I'm going to give this game 3 stars for its 3 levels. Each one is well crafted, with a few twists and turns thrown in to provide variety, but the bottom line is THERE'S ONLY 3 LEVELS!! To its credit, unlockables such as extra guns and costumes provide SOME replayability, as do things like day/night conditions, but it still would have been nice to see one or two extra scenarios thrown in to differentiate this from the arcade version! For the price I'd say its worth picking up if you have the Wii Zapper and are lookin for more stuff to shoot, but beyond that I can't really say this is a MUST HAVE game...

As the only game I purchased when I got my PS3, I was very glad to see how well the game was done! A long, detailed story line with genuine opportunity for replay kept me (and my friends) coming back for more. Played through no less that 3 times, it was fun to keep coming back and earning new weapons, which put twists into your strategy during gameplay. Great voice acting also helped to draw you into the storyline, giving you the feeling that this might actually have happened at one time, instead of the usual preachy salespitch that many games fall back on. If there is but one small problem I had- in some spots you notice that some more detail could have been present in such a highly-detailed game. It was only a few super minor things (such as a light bulb here and there or set of keys), and nothing that in any way took away from an otherwise EXCELLENT game! I think I'd recommend this for just about anyone looking to get a quality shooter experience but doesn't want a journey that's going to end too soon...
What's great about it: Incredibly Detailed Graphics, Solid Gameplay, Long Campaign Story

Since this uses your USB cord that came with the PS3, why didn't they just make it a little 2" plug that didn't need to use your only wire (assuming you haven't bought an extra by now)? Other than that, this little guy is a great piece to have around if you're gonna be playin your old PS1/2 games on the 3. A little tricky to figure it out at first, but soon becomes second nature. Could have been in the box, but then we'll go down the route of HDMI cables and Bluray remotes so I'll leave it alone lol!

Having two computers, I figured the best solution was having two sets of speakers! After already being blown away by the precursor Companion 3s, I figured I'd pick these up for the machine I'd be doing my primary gaming and movie watching on. For music, I'd stick with the 3s, plain and simple. These speakers plug in by USB use a 'TrueSpace' processor that recreates a 5.1 soundstage with dual driver satellites. It works great for games and movies, but almost makes music sound a little TOO spacious. The sound QUALITY I'd say is right on par with the 3s, but the QUANTITY is much greater! The woofer is a little larger, and the 2 extra drivers definately create a convincing 'surround sound effect' even if a Dolby signal is not present! While I wouldn't compare this to a true 5.1 system (as it only has 2 satellites), I will say that for what it is, it ROCKS!!
What's great about it: Excellent soundstage performance!
