In "Minutes to Midnight," Linkin Park has adapted to fit the times. In their old albums, they were all about mixing rap with metal. In this album, they're much more mainstream. A great example of this is the hit single, "What I've Done." A great song, but different from what they used to do. For the most part, it'll be disappointing to long-time fans of the group, but it's a great album for a newcomer to this band. For those oldtimers, though, there's some hope. "Hands Held High" is a reminder of songs past; the song is a little softer, but there's enough rapping in there to make any original fan happy.
What's great about it: Appeals to a wider audience
What's not so great: Not as unique as their previous work
