Solves my A/V Needs

I needed a second universal remote. I have had a Harmony for several years and I am sold on them. Adding or replacing components is easy thanks to the computer interface.
I was trying to decide which contoller to buy when the 700 went on sale. At $120 I couldn't turn this down. I set it up to run a Samsung plasma, AT&T Uverse box, a Yamaha receiver and a Sony BluRay. It worked perfectly. I went back and customized a couple of buttons to work better with the Uverse and BluRay and it is fairly straightfoward. It is a bit of a hassle to run two remotes off the same Logitech software page but it isn't impossible. They could make that a little more user friendly.
If you haven't tried the Harmony remote, this is a great one to start with. I haven't meet anyone that owns one and regrets the purchase.
What's great about it: USB connection for set up
What's not so great: Too many fixed buttons
I would recommend this to a friend!

which DVD player type is recommended for a 720 LCD tv? Blue Ray or upconverting DVD player?

BluRay is really a waste with a 720p TV. I bought one and then ended up buying a new 1080P TV to use it with! BluRay is fabulous with the right television.

Do you own or rent movies? If you buy movies, you might want to consider buying a BluRay and starting to build up your library. When you finally get a BluRay you won't be happy with the DVDs. If you rent, upconverting DVD players do a good job and they are so inexpensive now they are practically disposable.

Im lookin for a good 65 inch TV package with home theater equipment Does anyone have any ideas

I bought the 63 inch Samsung plasma from Best Buy last month. For a home theater set up it's great. Fabulous picture. The skies the limit for surround sound, but you will want a good audio system. a lot of that depends on your room.
