This camera is AMAZING

I am NOT a professional photographer. Before this purchase I always had "point and shoot" digital cameras. My wife and I wanted to "step up" the quality and control of our pictures (i.e. kids, sports events, cool sunsets, etc.) The size makes it a little cumbersome to take everywhere but I solved that problem by getting a backpack for DSLR cameras. The picture quality is unbelievable! Everything is so clear and crisp. Changing functions to create different effects is easy and creates some really cool shots.
If you are buying this camera, do yourself a favor and read the book while the battery charges. Once you get the general terminoligy and symbols down it's much easier. After I did that, I just started taking pictures of the same thing while changing settings to see what the effect was on the picture.
There are 2 auto settings that adjust for lighting, flash, focus, etc. that work great. So don't feel that you can't take pictures until you master the owners manual. The auto settings are great for right out of the box shooting.
Also this camera (unless bought in the package) you need to buy a compact flash card for picture storage. I bought the SanDisk Extreme Pro 32 GB & 90MB/s card. This thing is a MONSTER!!!! I had 1,000 pictures on there and the display stil read "999" pictures left. From what I've read (after buying this card) is that the capacity on this 32 GB card is around 7,000 picutres!!!!
Summary: This is the best, most fun camera my wife and I have owned.
What's great about it: Fast start up, auto focus, Video
What's not so great: Price can take some out of this market.
I would recommend this to a friend!
