This vacuum cleaner really lives up to all the good reviews I've read about it. I was going to buy a more expensive one this time, but I found it wasn't necessary. I can leave the vacuum on the floor and the hose reaches all the way up the stairs. I also love the contour pet tool. It gets all the hair stuck to the sides, bottom, and edges of the stairs that regular attachments can't touch. I lay the vacuum down to use the attachments so the roller bar doesn't dig into the carpet, as some have complained about. Just be sure to keep pets and children away from the exposed roller bar. By the way, we have 3 dogs and 1 cat, all long haired. It gets up all the hair and more with great suction. The specifications for this vacuum state that it's not self propelled, as some have said, but I can see why they thought it was, because it seems to glide across the carpet. I just love this vacuum!
