This is Great!

If anyone out there with an iPod that feels limited by iTunes now you have an alternative. Napster is DRM free and is downloaded as an MP3 so it can be loaded on to any device. Songs downloaded from iTunes can only be burned to a cd 7 times before it's locked out, here there is no limit. It takes a few extra steps to take it from Napster and move it into your iTunes software, but it's pretty easy to do. The sound quality is as good or higher than the iTunes bit rate. Plus you can stream music as well depending on what card you get.
What's great about it: High quality downloads for my iPod. Can stream music too!
What's not so great: Takes a few extra steps. No movies yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worst movie of the year...

This is quite possible one of the worst movies ever made. Now, I'm a pretty big fan of the Alien film franchise and to a lesser extent, Predator as well. I thought the first AVP film was a letdown, with a few highlights here and there.
Going into this knowing it was rated a hard R, I was hoping for more. Well I got more, none of it good. The problem with the film first off, it disregards its own rules. For example; It sets up the fact that the Aliens (like in other movies) have acid for blood. Yet the filmmakers pick and choose moments, where convienient for it to actually burn. Inexplicably, tons of Aliens show up through the course of there being only 3 eggs. Towards the end, that gets explained, but is so stupid, it adds insult to injury. There are more things in the movie that just don't add up, hey, I have suspension of disbelief, but when you set up rules in your own movie-FOLLOW THEM.
The film plays out more like a greatest hits movie, or better yet, a cover/tribute album, where the filmmaker's take all the cool sequences from earlier movies and then shoehorn them into fitting into this one.
While the effects are cool, and the gore is well done and aplenty, you feel nothing for the title creatures or the 45+ characters they introduce in the first 20 minutes. Quite simply it is a huge waste of time and money, and worst of all, it's boring.
What's great about it: Good effects.
What's not so great: Too many to list here.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
