The Oscar-winning action adventure Gladiator comes to DVD from DreamWorks in this single disc edition. Presented with a widescreen anamorphic transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound in English. Subtitles and closed captions are available in English. Extra features include audio commentary with director Ridley Scott, deleted scenes, storyboards, production notes, and biographies for the cast and crew. This is the scaled-down release of the film; those interested in bonus material are advised to check out the Special Edition two-disc set released by DreamWorks in 2000.

Russell Crowe brings a sense of grace and dignity to his role in this very violent, yet deeply moving film. The story immediately sweeps you up and the amazing visual effects and top notch acting make this movie truly stunning.

Great kids movie

This is one of the classic Disney movies and is a must-see for any child. I used to watch it over and over when I was little and I still enjoy it today. The songs are great (and get stuck in your head!) and the plot is very cute.

This is an amazing and creative musical. The cinematography is stunning and music and singing are fantastic. I've watched this movie dozens of times and I still love it just as much as I did the first time I saw it.

Great Fantasy Film

This is one of the better fantasy movies I've seen in a while. At first glance, you might think that it's a kid's movie, but don't be deceived - the themes here are quite mature (hence the R rating). The movie is in Spanish, but don't let that stop you from seeing it. Like most foreign films, after a few minutes you won't even realize that you're reading subtitles.

Subtle hilarity
on April 27, 2008

It seems like Napoleon Dynamite is one of those "love it or hate it" movies. There's a subtle humor here that some people won't appreciate, but I thought the movie was hilarious. It's already on its way to becoming a cult classic, especially with college age young adults. The movie is FULL of quotable lines which are already working their way into pop culture.
What's great about it: Extremely amusing
What's not so great: Not everyone will appreciate the humor

Amazing

The first of the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, Fellowship is an awe-inspiring introduction to Tolkien's world. The DVD incorporates deleted scenes not seen in the movie release and though it is long (close to four hours), you are so engrossed in the story that you'll wonder how the time went so quickly. The cinematography and scenery are stunning and the acting is superb. One of the best fantasy films ever created.

Unbelievably addicting
on April 20, 2008

WoW is one of the most popular computer games in history for a reason - it is one of the most addicting games in existence. Anyone who has done old school role-playing like Dungeons and Dragons knows the appeal of immersing yourself in a character. WoW allows you to design your own characters and enter a whole new world just waiting to be explored. The interface is simple and easy to learn - newbies can progress rapidly. Goals are varied and there are multiple ways for players to advance levels. While group play is encouraged, it is by no means necessary and anyone can progress without the aid of others. The frequent patches are annoying, but are unavoidable. I wouldn't recommend this game if you have a lack of self control. It could take over your life.
What's great about it: Addicting, good graphics, easy to pick up
What's not so great: Monthly fee, frequent patches
