Clark Griswold and his family get to celebrate the holidays in digital splendor in this DVD release of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. The film has been transferred to disc in its original widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The original English language soundtrack has been remixed in Dolby Digital 5.1, while an alternate track dubbed in French appears in Dolby Digital Mono. The movie also features optional subtitles in English, French, and Spanish. No bonus materials have been included.

Funniest Christmas Movie ever

This is the funniest Christmas movie I have ever seen. Chevy Chase is back as Clark Griswold and he is one of the funniest actors ever. He will have you laughing from start to finish in this movie. Randy Quaid is also in this movie and he is histerical as well. The story line is great and the actors work well togehter. Purchase this movie you will watch it over and over again even if it is just at Christmas time. In my opinion this is the best Vacation movie they made
What's great about it: Its hiliarious from start to finish
What's not so great: nothing

nice sequel
on January 12, 2009

It is a nice squel to the first young guns, but does not compare to the intrigue the first one has. Only some of the cast returns. If you like the first one it will be a nice addition to your collection. It just does not grab your attention the way the first one did. I bought it anyway I like this film.
What's great about it: Its a good sequel
What's not so great: not as good as the first

The Terminator features a wonderful 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer that is remarkable for a film released back in 1984. A few specks of dirt appear on the print, but they're extremely minor and don't hinder the experience in any way. This disc includes a brand-new 5.1-channel Dolby Surround transfer that showcases a significant amount of power and depth. It also contains the original mono track, which lacks the strength of its companion but does have a balanced level of sound. This special edition of The Terminator contains an impressive collection of supplements that should please its many devout fans. The highlights are two well-done documentaries that provide plenty of background material. "Other Voices" is a comprehensive new extra that includes basically everyone involved with the film in a significant capacity. "The Terminator -- A Retrospective" features an informal conversation between James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1992 about their experiences making the film. The other major inclusion is seven deleted scenes that are more interesting than the usual throwaway moments. Cameron offers commentary on each cut and tries to explain why he made the deletion. There's also a large still gallery that contains numerous drawings and photographs in five categories. The most interesting section includes artwork by Cameron of his original concepts and storyboarded sequences. This disc offers fans a chance at reading Cameron's original film treatment. Written in 1982, it's very extensive and includes the basic structure for the final version. There are also several original theatrical trailers and television commercials included on this release.

Awesome Sci-fi movie

This is a classic sci-fi film. A robot from the future comes back in time to kill Sarah Conner so that John Conner can never be born to destoy the Terminators in a future battle between mankind and the Terminators. The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzanegger) is a robot with skin over the top to appear human. It is a great film and a classic. The story is cool and the action is even better. You will love this film and I would buy T2 and Terminator 3 as well you will not be disappointed
What's great about it: Arnold Schwarzanegger as the Terminator
What's not so great: nothing

Wes Craven's Scream became a box-office blockbuster and breathed life into the nearly dead slasher genre. This DVD of the film is an improvement over all previous editions. The disc offers a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no subtitles on this release. Supplemental materials include a pair of commentary tracks (one from the director and another from writer Kevin Williamson), interviews with the cast and crew, theatrical trailers, television promotional spots, cast and crew profiles, making-of footage, and a special effects gallery. No matter what one thinks of the film, this is a superb DVD from Disney/Buena Vista.

Great scary movie
on January 11, 2009

This is a great scary movie by Wes Craven. It is a great suspense from beginning to end and trying out to figure out who the killer is. Drew Barrymore is in this movie and does a wonderful job. The movie starts with a bang and grabs your attention from the get go. It is not a slasher movie that you are used to. It is revolutionary in the fact that is was a new kind of suspense horror film that has yet to be duplicated.
What's great about it: The drama and trying to figure out who the killer is

The Terminator series has a long history of delivering jam-packed DVDs sure to rock your speakers and blind you with their pristine picture quality -- a legacy which, at the outset, Warner Bros. T3: The Rise of the Machines seems to live up to -- though closer inspection of this two-disc set might prove otherwise. Technically it's brilliant, with a deep 5.1 Dolby Digital track that'll knock your socks off and shake your teeth, while this version's equally as rich (though aesthetically inferior) full-screen picture contains crystal-clear clarity surrounding the perfectly transferred auburn and blue color schemes of the hit film. Feature-wise, the first disc offers two audio commentaries, the first featuring director Jonathan Mostow and every principal in the cast, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nick Stahl, Claire Danes, and the sexy TX herself, Kristanna Loken. While it's not quite the group experience that you'd expect, the individual interviews that make up the track still offer amazing insight into the production -- even if Arnold is far funnier when he has someone else to work off of (see his hilarious commentary with John Milius on the Conan: The Barbarian Collector's Edition for proof). Another, more pared-down, in-depth commentary can be found on the director's lone track as he discusses everything from casting decisions to the role he had to fill after James Cameron departed. Rounding out disc one is the final theatrical trailer, along with a trailer for Atari's T3 game for X-Box and Playstation 2. Disc two is where the juicy extras await you, starting with a new introduction from Arnold, explaining what you'll find on the disc and, of course, the promise that he will inevitably "be back." Next is a breezy 13-minute on-set HBO First Look documentary and the best feature on the DVD -- the deleted Sgt. Candy scene, a bit which not only provides some good continuity for the series, but also one of the biggest intentional (or unintentional, figuring on how you view it) laughs on the whole disc. The heart of the extras comes with the T3 Visual Effects Lab, which features separate sections on the stunts and effects of the Crane chase, TX Transformation, Future War, and Crystal Peak (aka: half-machine Arnold after the helicopter crash) scenes. Sadly, the featurettes are littered with a truly annoying transition screen that screams "cheap" and shows exactly why this is the more casual commercial release, rather than the one for the hardened DVD and movie lover. In contrast, this section also contains a truly innovative feature called Create Your Own Visual Effects, which puts the audience in control of three key money shots in the film and lets them create the scene over and over again by deleting or adding various layers into the final FX shot (the part with the exoskeletons with flame-throwers is genius). Next up is the Skynet Database section, which also adds to the overall cheapness factor of the DVD by including fictional Skynet "files" on various characters and machines in the Terminator series and in the video portions, substituting horrible stand-ins for some of the leads (who they obviously couldn't get footage of) and recycling footage already seen in the visual effects featurettes. The makers of the DVD put a tad more time into the Terminator Timeline feature, an extra which details the entire series' story line in a comprehensive manner -- though it, too, is hampered, this time with poor design and functionality (as can be seen after a few minutes fiddling with it). Rounding out the second disc are a gag reel, a storyboards section, featurettes on the costumes and Todd McFarlane toy line, a PC game trailer, and a making-of segment on the game itself. Gripes about the features aside, this disc should tide fanatics over until the more bonus-filled disc Mostow has promised comes out -- until then, audiences will always have that Sgt. Candy scene....

Good movie. It is a nice edition to the Terminator movie family. Arnold Schwarzanegger is in great shape in this film for a man in his fifties. He still plays a great Terminator. Claire Daines is in this movie as well and does a good job. Great action and a bunch of shooting and fighting. Makes a great guy movie

Rascal Flatts is a great country group. This CD is complied with all the greatest hits they have had to date. As someone who never was a real big country music fan this is a great CD and you will enjoy each song on here. Plus it comes with an extra disc with three country songs they did. It is a nice little edition
