I was actually browsing for for new speakers to replace these speakers. I saw the reviews so high and had to comment. I purchased these speakers about six months ago for use on a old IBM laptop that has very poor speakers. The sound volume was NOT an improvement. I have since upgraded my laptop to a Sony Vaio F series. The HP speakers are not even as loud as my Vaio speakers which all in all are not that great. On top of poor volume, the quality is reflected by the price.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Sound volume and quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
