Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Standard Lens: This Canon 50mm lens has an unusually large maximum aperture so you can get detailed pictures even in low light without needing a flash. It's excellent for basic portraits and scenic shots, especially at night.

Best Bang for your Buck!

I have tried the Canon 50mm F1.8 II for 2 weeks and was happy with results.
I have also tried the Canon 50mm F1.2 for a day and fell in love with it completely but not my wallet.
With the Canon 50mm F1.4, I was able to get the same quality on the F1.2 for a fraction of the cost yet not a toy like F1.8 II.
I am very happy with my purchase.
What's great about it: Affordable 50mm F1.4
What's not so great: I did not but it before
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Startup Mac. Solide Design.

This is my 2nd Macbook. I just sold my Macbook White Mid2010 Model a day before this was launch. Boy I was so lucky.
I like the solid design especially the glass on the LED LCD. That means less chance of having a dead pixel..(some people touch the lcd and it causes a smudge pixel)
I paired the Macbook Pro 13" with a Magic Mouse.
Now the Cons:
I've had laptops before similar to the finish of the Macbook Pro (Aluminum). Over period of time, the palm rest will discolor due too sweat and heat. I would suggest that you get a full Keyboard silicon cover. Also, since it is aluminum casing, there is a big tendency that you may cause dents and dings as well as scratches. It is also wise to invest on External Casing that will cover the front and the bottom part. This way you can preserve you MacBook Pro (and a higher resale value when time comes that you need to sell and upgrade.)
I consider this a good investment. (No viruses, minimal crashes and very stable OS.)
I stil own a PC (8 computers @ home and 2 Apple Products.) and I use the Apple products mostly on financial transactions.
Summary: Good solid design, Stable OS. Nice backlit keyboard, Good battery life (though Macbook White Mid 2010 can do 10:51hrs on the lowest settings)
I would recommend this to everyone. Good upgrade.
What's great about it: Form Factor. Os is very stable, Battery Life, Fast Processor.
What's not so great: May get scratched easily and dents. A little pricey but worth it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my second magic mouse. The first was power hungry or maybe the battery was already used before. I returned it and got the same exact one.
This time i put the Duracell Alkaline and it remained 100% power.
It was not as fast draining as compared to the one that ive got earlier.
It takes a while of getting used to.
I use this 4-5 hours a day and had no complains.
I highly recommend this to all Mac Owners and Users.

It's worth it....BUT....

I recently bought a Canon Rebel XS + 75-300mm + extra battery. I've used it for a couple days. I realized I wasn't satisfied with output. Maybe it's because I've seen the output of a Nikon D90 from a friend. I was stunned with results of the D90 but it's a little step up from the Canon Rebel XS. A difference of only 2MP. Nothing much.
But when I tried this, I feel like a real photographer. Saturation, Speed, HD video., ISO, etc, are the only the few features of this magnificient camera.
I still have to read the manual and most probably join a forum so I can learn the other features.
To tell you the truth, I am the type of person that would spend something that I will be happy with. I dont want to buy or keep the Canon XS for a few months then upgrade to a better camera. Tha will cost me more.
I would rather have something more advance now, something I like and something that is limitless with options. It really broke the bank and cost me an arm and a leg.
One more thing, i was force to buy a CF card. I also ordered on ebay a SD to CF converter.I have so many SDHC cards. Thats the only downside on 7D.
What's great about it: All the features you will ever need.
What's not so great: Pricey. It broke the bank. It cost me an arm and a leg. Im broke. CF Card :(((

Great battery.
Ive taken more than 1,800 pictures before charging it. Please note that most of the shots taken were without a flash. I was playing with ISO settings eliminating the use of flash.

Would this be a good choice of lens for a nice bokeh? I want a nice bokeh for a 1-4 person family portrait. Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it will produce a great Bokeh. But taking pictures of more people will be a problem unless you have a big room or it is done outdoors

Would this lens be good for food photos?

Yes if will be good for food photos. but you need to walk a little further back to get the the subject inside the frame. you just have to be creative. 35mm 1.4 is ideal for your application. but ive done it with this lens and it produced superb results.

which is better lens 18-55mm IS or 55-250mm IS.. and what is best function of each lenses?

Both have different purpose.

18-55mm will be your everyday lens.

55-250mm will be you occassional lens. Meaning, good for taking pics from a distance. Like football, soccer game, bird photography.

If you can, dont get either of these lenses. Save up on the 18-200mm. You will like this and use this more often.

Ive had those two lenses and i must say that it did the job. But switching lenses was a hassle. You may miss a couple of good shots while doing so.

Another thing to consider, the price of the two lenses is equivalent to the 18-200mm in terms of price.

In the end it will be you who will decide.

What are the specs for a wide angle lens? i.e.,18-55mm?

I am a realtor and need a wide angle lens to take interior shots of the various rooms.
I just bought a Nikon D3000- but I still need a wide angle lens.
Any suggestion-would be helpful.
I am not really familiar with Nikon D3000.

I would suggest you use a Panoramic software.

It means, you take multiple shots and the computer will stitch them together.

It is a cool application.
