(Note: this review won't address iOS vs Android. That's a matter of personal preference)
Coming from an iPhone 5S, the iPhone 6 is a big upgrade (in every way!). The big screen can be a bit disorienting at first but one quickly gets used to it. My finacee's 5S now looks tiny to me in comparison. Every aspect of the phone has been improved: besides better internals, the iPhone 6 has a faster LTE radio (it shows) and a better fingerprint sensor (it shows). The iPhone 6 is an excellent product.
Of course, I wouldn't get one now. Wait for the 6S to be released in late September - then even if you're looking at the iPhone 6 you'll be able to get it cheaper.

Easily the best game I've played thus far in 2015. This is a deep, meaty European-style RPG with weapon degradation, crafting, a convoluted inventory system and skill tree - oh, and an incredible and intricately crafted world. Truly worth a play. Just be prepared to spend 200+ hours with this game. I'm not even past Act 1 and have already put over 50 hours in.
A piece of advice: don't neglect Gwent. This little card game is surprisingly addictive. Almost more addictive than the main game!
A sprawling metropolis in the not-so-distant future. Premise: A catastrophic event has left the city in ruins and most of its inhabitants are either dead or have been transformed into horrifying mutants. For most people, being dropped down into these kinds of circumstances would mean certain death. Not only are you fighting for survival in a postapocalyptic city, but you're attempting to escape the nightmarish transformation that has claimed most of the survivors. Good thing you're not like most people.Dive into the open-world shooter of Sunset Overdrive, and prove that you've got what it takes to survive catastrophe. With a knack for traversing the ruined city with hyper agility, it's a simple matter to survive postapocalyptic conditions. When it comes to the mutants, not only are you escaping their transformation, but you've found your true calling ~ mutant destroyer. A fully loaded arsenal of overpowered weapons back you up and make it totally clear that the end of days is just the beginning for you. It's your turn to star in this end-of-the-world storyline.

Sunset Overdrive is a mashup of the old Tony Hawk games, Jet Set Radio, Ratchet & Clank's weapons arsenal and a (very loose) shooter. Traversal rules in this game, and without grinding or wallrunning or bouncing you'll be dead very quickly. But traversal is also incredibly, incredibly fun and well-implemented. Meanwhile the shooting is loose and extremely forgiving - but still enjoyable because of the variety of zany and bizarre weapons.
Some have criticized this game's sense of humor (fourth-wall-breaking, etc.), and I suppose that's to taste. I came into Sunset Overdrive expecting to find it grating and annoying. Instead I was pleasantly surprised.

Microsoft upped the bar with these second-generation Xbox 360 controllers. The transforming D-pad makes a huge difference in terms of gameplay. Trigger motion is also slightly shallower than the original 360 controller, and the back is a bit less grippy.

This is the Diablo 3 you know and love (pretty graphics, deep and engaging RPG combat system, endless waves of variegated enemies, laughably awful story), but with a few twists.
(1) The dodge function: All characters can now Dodge (not just the Demon Hunter). This is mapped to one of the controller sticks and is really useful - it makes a big difference to my playstyle vs PC.
Of the console versions, this is the best: 60fps essentially locked, 1080P graphics. I'd recommend it if you want a fun and mindless dungeon crawler to play local co-op.
Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization spanned our solar system, but it didn't last. Something hit us, knocked us down. Destiny has, of course, been polished, tested, advertised and promoted to no end. So I find it somewhat strange that such a high-profile release feels so soul-numbingly empty. The world consists of a handful of large, quasi-open-world levels which are recycled for several missions each and several multiplayer maps on the same worlds. The story amounts to 'go here and kill this because it needs to die.' Seriously, I'm about halfway through the game and I have no idea what's going on (nor do I much care).
Still, the combat's tight and well-polished and the graphics are spanky. Strikes and missions are fun to play with friends. Crucible multiplayer, in my opinion, is a cut-rate Halo.
All in all, I'm disappointed. Still worth a play-through to see what the hype was all about - but do yourself a favor and don't spend $60 on this game.

Prepare yourself to embark on a dogged vendetta that calls upon you to fight your way through Mordor and uncover the truth of the spirit who compels you. This epic tale of revenge and redemption transforms you into the most feared force in the land ~ the Shadow of Mordor.Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor delivers a dynamic game environment where the player orchestrates their personal plan of vengeance as they bend Mordor to their will. As Talion's personal vendetta unfolds, players uncover the mystery of the Spirit that compels him, discover the origin of the Rings of Power and confront the ultimate nemesis.

Really great fun. As The Verge noted, the player takes on the role of a sort of Jack Bauer of Middle-Earth, using violence and 'enhanced interrogation' techniques to conduct an insurgency against Sauron's forces. It works on every level.
Combat is engaging, fluid and deep (very reminiscent of the Batman: Arkham series) while the upgrade/ RPG element interesting but mostly invisible. My only quibble: many tutorials near the start end up being long on-screen text windows. It's really a quibble.
This is Batman: Arkham meets Assassin's Creed in Middle-Earth: play it, you owe it to yourself.

I was fairly skeptical of the UE Boom on price-to-performance grounds. Then I bought it. This speaker is incredible. It's about the size of a Tall-Boy beer can and pumps out fantastic sound. I find the Jambox (and even, to some extent, the Bose Soundlink Mini) a bit too bass-y for my taste. In particular, voices on podcasts sound muddled and unclear. The UE Boom solves all of this and more: my girlfriend and I were absolutely stunned by the sound quality.
The speaker also allows for two Bluetooth devices to be paired at once and for music to be played in turns.
Battery life? It was 40% charged out of the box and down to 30% after about 5 hours of listening at moderate volume. That translates to about 50 hours total...I find that pretty unrealistic (Logitech advertises 15-hour battery life). In any case, we'll just have to see on that score.
In sum: An unbelievable little speaker. If you're on the fence, buy it.
