Very disappointed

I bought one of these about a year and a half ago. When it was new, I was fairly happy with it. It wasn't as good as the Hoover Windtunnel my wife kept when we split up, but it was also $80-$100 less. After about 6 months, the problems became more obvious.
First, the dust bin does not get a very good seal when put in place. Second, the portions that generate the cyclonic action are difficult to get in and out and you can't actually see when it's dirty up there. The vacuum clogs up very easily, and it didn't takemuch cat hair in the dust bin before the suction quickly faded. The height adjustment on the vacuum didn't really do anything, leaving the height at the lowest setting. This overworked the beater and its belt. So it would quickly burn through belts, and I mean "burn" very literally. Every 6 months you would know the belt was going because the whole house would smell like burnt rubber.
Now, the vacuum is completely dead. I replaced it the similarly priced Hoover Windtunnel (UH70120) and it has only made me more disappointed in the Bissel. The Hoover went together with just one screw. The dustbin is much easier to access to empty and clean, and the power button being on the handle makes things a lot easier as well. I obviously can't speak to differences in durability. But it would be really hard for the Hoover to be worse on that end.
What's great about it: The tool attachments are fantastic
What's not so great: clogs easily. not durable at all
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
