Mecha Action Hotness
on October 11, 2007
Posted by: supahgrandpoobahnator

Previous Armored Core games have focused on the strategy element of building the perfect mech. That's great, but the mechs felt slow and clunky. THIS Armored Core plays almost like an arcade game. It's way faster and more action-oriented than previous titles. This is the best 360 mech game.
What's great about it: Fast Mecha action
What's not so great: Not enough game

Great Multiplayer experience
on October 11, 2007

The multiplayer mode in this game is pretty average for a FPS game, but the thing that really elevates it is the customization. You have three different races (elf, human, dwarf) that are well balanced, and each can buy things like teleporting, resurrection, glider (flying), and all sorts of crazy options. By mixing up the options, there's a really deep level of play that can be achieved on the various maps. It also rewards cooperative team play.
The community that plays it is pretty consistent, so there's always someone to play online. It's just a drag that the lack of campaign mode makes it a more limited experience than it should be.
What's great about it: Awesome multiplayer ability combinations
What's not so great: NO CAMPAIGN MODE!

Great Golf

EA has made this series better and better each year. The modes, shops, equipment and general realism make for a really immersive experience, even if you're not a golfer. The only think that's still creepy is the 3D face models for the golfers are weird-looking. They've been improving, but this year they're still odd. Aside from that, there's a LOT to love in this game.
What's great about it: Gameplay is addictive
What's not so great: PS2 graphics suffer compared to next-gen versions

A New Idea in a Stale Genre
on October 9, 2007
Posted by: supahgrandpoobahnator

Skate is much more of a "groove" type game where you are immersed in the laid back attitude of skateboarding. The controls primarily use the two analog sticks to do the board work, and while this takes an hour or two to get used to, it's amazing to work with once you're used to the controls. Nice NEW idea in a stale genre. Also, now that Sony has announced the Dual Shock 3, hopefully they'll offer a patch for this that supports rumble on the PS3!
What's great about it: Great, natural controls.
What's not so great: Not-so-great, longer learning curve for the new controls

The curtain becomes nauseating. You've stared at it for what seems like eternity. You sweat as the rumbles of an anxious crowd rattle the stage. This is your big moment. After years of hard work and expended creative energy, your dreams may be crushed in a matter of seconds. When the curtain rises, your music career will reach its coda. You'll either knock the crowd off its feet with stellar strumming and killer riffs, etching a rock reputation that may someday lead you to sold-out stadiums and arenas. Or you'll bomb, having to earn your living on the sidewalk with an open guitar case. Fame and fortune begin with fingers and frets. Do you have what it takes to become the next rock-and-roll legend, or are you all thumbs?Picking up where its extremely popular predecessor left off, Guitar Hero II expands your playing options by letting you play two different guitar tracks per song, selecting from rhythm, bass and lead, depending on the track. This smashing sequel follows up the original with more than 55 killer new tracks, including hits from rock legends Van Halen, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, Avenged Sevenfold and more. All-new multiplayer modes let you form a duo with a friend in Cooperative mode, or shred riffs back and forth in Pro Face-Off and Face-Off modes. All guitar heroes started somewhere ~ try out the all-new Practice mode to master specific sections of music or even slow down the track, and take your first step towards superstardom.

I wanna ROCK
on October 8, 2007

Guitar Hero II is a definite improvement on Guitar Hero. They made it easier to do the hammer on and pull off moves that were really iffy in the first game. They also used the success of the first game to get an even BETTER list of hit songs for the set lists this time around. It's the rare game that builds on a prior game (Japanese hit Guitar Freaks) and makes it SO much better, but the Guitar Hero series does it! I highly recommend getting a wireless guitar for this because the game makes you want to ROCK, and it's hard to do that with wires attached!
What's great about it: Better in almost every way than the first game
What's not so great: No recording contract forthcoming when you beat it

Beautiful Blu-Ray Hi Def transfer

I got this movie for my wife, but was surprised that I actually enjoyed the comedy in it as well. The bigger surprise was that this movie has one of the BEST Hi-Def transfers I have seen yet. The color saturation and black levels are FANTASTIC. Technically, I'd give it 4.5 stars, but the movie itself is only a 3. Still, enough funny stuff in here to make it easy for guys to watch with their significant other.

The Best RPG just got Better!
on September 24, 2007
Posted by: supahgrandpoobahnator

Oblivion is the latest chapter in the Elder Scrolls series, and I would say it is the best by far. The graphics are fantastic, especially outside of the cities in the forests. There are tons of quests to do, and many paths for your character to take (good, evil, etc), and what lifestyle you choose has a bearing on what quests you have the chance to attempt. There's SO much to do, I know that some people can get overwhelmed because it's not obvious in the very beginning what to do. I just recommend talking to a few people and you'll find your first quest. Because of the branching nature of the game, you can play it four-five-even six times and still not see everything. The best thing about the Game of the Year edition is you don't have to pay to buy the Knights of the Nine, and Shivering Isles expansions, they're included!

To make matters worse, the gates of Oblivion have opened and vicious demons are laying waste to the land. The tide of darkness must be turned. The solidarity of the empire must be restored. Are you ready to save Tamriel? The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion continues the exciting role playing series. You will live another life in another world, choosing from a huge number of playable characters, from a sinister assassin to a wise sorcerer. An all-new combat and magic system hammers gameplay to a new level, letting you feel the ground you walk upon and the sting of every blow in combat. Stunning graphics capture the wonder of the setting, complete with bustling towns, dark dungeons and so much more. Realistic nonplayer characters fill out the world, going about their daily routines and even engaging in unscripted conversations. Shorter challenges, such as fighting bandits and creating magical spells, will arise throughout your adventure, making this quest a rich and exhilarating gameplay experience.

They say for most people that doing is learning ~ being told how to do something, or even shown, isn't nearly as effective as jumping right in and giving it a try for yourself. Learning to play the guitar certainly applies to this principle, and hands-on, on-the-go sessions are the most effective way to elevate your skills. Whether you're a novice picking up the guitar for the very first time or an old hand fine-tuning your technique, Rocksmith gets you results fast, by putting the guitar in your hands, plugging into your console and getting the party started. Rocksmith 2014 Edition takes the same proven methods of the original edition and enhances them for a fruitful learning experience that will soon have you riffing with the best of 'em.Newly designed for an enriched, re-imagined experience, Rocksmith 2014 Edition features new menus and in-game interfaces for clear, smooth and blazing-fast learning. Receive feedback and play along with more than 50 hit tracks, from alternative rock to heavy metal to classic rock and more. If you own the original Rocksmith, the 2014 Edition is backward compatible with those songs as well for a rich library of tracks you know and love. Designed for ease and speed, the features are more accessible and flexible than ever, allowing you to select your section, difficulty and speed on-the-fly in the fully customizable Riff Repeater mode. Experience a revamped Master mode that is more approachable to learn songs by memory. When you want to ease the pressure a bit, jump over to the Guitarcade for more than 10 mini games that will help you have fun while honing your skills. Session mode lets you experience the feeling of jamming with a band ~ choose the combination of instruments you want backing you up and following your lead. Showcase your sickest performance with integrated capture and streaming features, which are exclusive to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Rocksmith 2014. Import your existing DLC purchases from your PlayStation 3, so you can grow your music library without having to leave your favorite tunes behind. Become engrossed in the learning process with 1080p high-definition graphics that offer improved clarity and visual quality, which make it easier to follow along. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced axe man, there's always something to learn, and Rocksmith 2014 Edition makes it an enjoyable, worthwhile experience.

I thought this game what's going to be wonderful but turned out that there was the big time lag and the game performance. I have very fast internet so there should have been a problem. Tried to return the item but was unable to. Not happy.

The Lag is your TV
February 15, 2015
You need to put your TV in game mode to reduce the lag if the game is lagging on you. Many cheap LCD TVs (like Vizio, Westinghouse, etc) have terrible lag. It's probably your TV. If you have game mode, that will help.

how can i get pictures off memory card in digital camera

Plug your camera into the computer using a USB cable, or use the camera's wifi (if it has that), or remove the memory card from the camera and plug it into the computer's memory card port. If it doesn't have memory card ports, you'll have to buy an adapter - cost is less than $20 in most cases.

where is a canon camera repair service in ft myers fl

You have to send the camera in. Good news is Canon has an upgrade program where you can turn in your broken Canon and step up to a better model cheaply. Also, some cameras have recalls where they'll fix them out of warranty for free.

Can you watch HD movies taken with a camera on a regular TV

If I purchase a camera that takes HD movies will I be able to watch them on a regular TV? Thanks.
If you transfer the video from your camera to your computer and then burn the video on DVD, you can watch it. Also, some cameras have direct video output, which would allow you to plug the camera directly into the TV and play it straight from the camera.
