Somewhat addicting
on October 15, 2008

When this show first came out, I didn't want to watch it. However, I tuned in one night and became addicted. Lauren is my favorite character, and while some of the situations are hard to believe, I think it becomes a bit of a guilty pleasure for girls. It's a fun, silly show that is fun to watch. I reccommend it for girls, but don't make guys watch it unless you are ready for them to seriously make fun of the whole show :)

Good Film

Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway shine in this comical and unbelievable film. Supposedly based on the editor of Vogue, you will be appalled at some things Miranda (Streep) asks her assistant Andy (Hathaway) to do for her! I found myself getting frustrated at times during the movie for Andy's sake! It was a good movie and it was fun to see all of the fashion!

This romantic comedy gets a solid presentation for this DVD release. This version of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days has been transferred to disc in a pan-and-scan edition, which trims the original widescreen image so that it will fit on a conventional television screen, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. The disc also includes an alternate commentary track from director Donald Petrie, several deleted scenes, two short documentaries on the making of the film, and onscreen interviews with members of the cast and crew.

Hilarious movie!

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey shine in this romantic comedy! I would not consider it just a chick flick because guys will get a laugh out of the humor as well! Kate Hudson's character, Andie, will make everyone laugh and make guys grateful they don't have girlfriends that crazy! Matthew McConaughey is cute and funny as ever, and the chemistry between the two actors is great! This is a great buy!

From director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg comes a thrilling battle between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. When their epic struggle comes to Earth, all that stands between the Decepticons and ultimate power is a clue held by young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf). Unaware that he is mankind's last chance for survival, Sam and Bumblebee, his robot disguised as a car, are in a heart-pounding race against an enemy unlike anything anyone has seen before.

Awesome movie!

As a girl, I didn't expect to like this movie very much. I went with a group of guy friends for something to do, and I ended up enthralled the entire time. I love this movie! Yes, it is action packed and follows the Transformers cartoon, but there is so much more! The humor is great and the story is just very well written! Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox are great for the parts of Sam and and Mikaela. Whether, you're a girl or guy, you won't be disappointed with this movie!!

Great Soundtrack!

I was also skeptical when I first heard that a new musical was to be based on Legally Blonde. I finally saw it on tv and I was pleasantly surprised! Laura Bell Bundy was fantastic and I fell in love with the music as well! I also enjoyed watching the show based upon finding the new lead role for Elle on MTV and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the behind-the-scenes look at some of the songs and the choreography. This soundtrack is perky and fun! I wasn't disappointed!!
What's great about it: Clever lyrics and great music

Wonderful Movie
on July 23, 2008

The screenplay for this movie is wonderful and these four actors and actresses bring it to life wonderfully! I would have never imagined the combination of Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Cameron Diaz, and Jude Law coming together to make a great movie, but I am so glad they were cast for these roles. They were perfect! I really loved the story and the twists and turns of the movie were great! I reccommend it to anyone. It will make men and women laugh!
What's great about it: Funny, witty, clever
What's not so great: None I could find

Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood, a Southern soap-opera if ever there was one, comes to DVD and the for the most part, the results are very nice. Though the disc does contain a 5.1 Dolby Digital tracks in English, the auditory elements are the weak point of this title. Not that wide dynamic range would be expected with this type of film, but the lack of any significant surround material is somewhat disappointing. Granted, the dialogue is clear and distortion free, which is all that really can be asked for. It's the image which makes up for the standard soundtrack. The 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer (a cropped pan and scan version is also available separately) is stunning. Colors are well saturated, and overall detail is exceptional. There are no signs of grain or scratches, making this an image that comes very close to reference quality. Supplemental materials are fairly extensive here. For starters are two commentary tracks, one with director Callie Khouri, executive producer Lisa Stewart, producers Bonnie Bruckheimer and Hunt Lowry, editor Andrew Marcus and composer T-Bone Burnett (as one might expect, it becomes a bit difficult to figure out who is who) and the other with just Khouri and actress Ashley Judd. Though not much more than a fluff piece, a 14-minute featurette called "Unlocking the Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" does have some interesting interviews mixed in with as many clips from the film, and there are some additional brief interviews in a different section entitled "Ya-Ya Sisterhood Scrapbook". Finally, along with a music video from Alison Kraus and the theatrical trailer are about 16 minutes of extra scenes that weren't used in the film, and are of varying video quality.

Disappointing movie
on July 13, 2008
Posted by: Courtsport220
I have read the book written by Rebecca Wells, and this movie is disappointing in comparison with the book and the real stories that should have been displayed in the movie. It does not show the true girl friendship that the Ya-Ya's shared. The acting is decent and the actresses embody the characters of Vivi, Necie, Caro, and Teensy, but the viewers do not get the full story. It was a mediocre movie, and I enjoyed the movie much more.
What's great about it: Some good storylines
What's not so great: Does not compare to the book

Best Friends Season!
on July 12, 2008
Posted by: Courtsport220
This is one of the best, if not the best, FRIENDS season that they made. This season follows the weird relationship that started between Rachel and Joey, Monica and Chandler's adoption of a baby from a surrogate mother, Phoebe's marriage to Mike, and Ross's relationship with his colleague Charlie Wheeler. This season does not disappoint. It is funnier than ever! It also is the last season, so it includes the final episode ever. It is a wonderful episode that leaves fans sad yet satisfied! I reccommend this season collection to any FRIENDS fan!
What's great about it: The entire 10th season- every episode!
What's not so great: It's the last season! :(

Awesome Soundtrack

This is a great soundtrack with funny clips of lines from the tv show in between the songs. It makes me laugh each time I listen to it and it brings back good memories from the show! I really enjoy all the the music from the late 90's era when this was produced! I would reccommend it for any FRIENDS fan!!
What's great about it: Good memories from the show
What's not so great: Mainly 90's music

Absolutely wonderful movie
on July 7, 2008

This edition of "You've Got Mail" is wonderful. It looked great on my widescreen TV and it was an even better movie than I had remembered. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are a dynamic duo. Having already completed two movies before this together, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan interact in a comical and quirky way. Joe Fox (Hanks), the business-driven owner of Fox Books chain, begins an online friendship unknowlingly to the charming Kathleen Kelly (Ryan) who owns an independent children's book store. They do not get along in person, but start falling in love with each other online through chatting and e-mails. It is a heartwarming and funny movie. I would reccommend it to anyone!!
What's great about it: This movie is funny, lighthearted, and a movie you want to watch over and over.
What's not so great: It may be considered a "chick flick" but I think it will make anyone laugh. Some consider the movie predictable.
I would recommend this to a friend!
