Best Racing Game of the Year
on December 7, 2009
Posted by: bighonkinwalrus
from Cleveland, Ohio
Everyone knows what the game is about, so I'll cut to the chase. This game allows you to race and customize over 400 cars. You can paint, apply vinyls and all sorts of other cool stuff to make your car look virtually any way you could possibly imagine. You can tune the game to suit your racing ability like enabling some features, but not others. Enabling some features allows you to earn extra money in the game without having to bend over backwards to win races. Drive crazy amounts of races on massive amounts of track.
The only flaw I see is the handbrake, and either I don't know how to use it properly, or that's the way it is, but even at low speeds, even tapping the handbrake will send you spinning wildly out of control. Besides that, the game is virtually flawless with its pristine graphics and large achievement list to keep any gamer involved for hours.
What's great about it: Set the race down to the very last detail to tune your racing style.
What's not so great: The handbrake control is useless unless you want to spin wildly out of control.

A Fantastic Sequel!
on November 19, 2009
Posted by: bighonkinwalrus

No doubt this game makes a fantastic sequel to the original zombie thriller. It is a blast! Fight your way through 5 campaigns now that all link together. Fight new, dangerous zombies on your quest to freedom and rescue, all the while using new melee weapons and guns to meet your goal.
While this game provides hours of entertainment, for those who were bored easily from the game play of L4D1, be prepared to be bored again. The repay quality is high, but as play will dictate, it is more of the same old Left 4 Dead with new weapons and fighters. I love the game, and it keeps my attention, but don't be prepared to spend hours upon hours playing. This game is good in small doses.
What's great about it: New guns, characters, melee weapons, campaigns, modes.
What's not so great: Overall, more of the same action. Replay quality low for those who are bored easily.

The Best of The First Three By Far
on November 1, 2009
Posted by: bighonkinwalrus

I've played the first three Halos now and by far number three is the best. We all know what the game has involved with it, so I'll just discuss the coolest parts. I love nothing better than to hijack enemy vehicles and either take them over or blow them up (in campaign mode). The multiplayer maps are great and much of the extra content is free. I bought #3 even though ODST and "Wars" were out because I heard that they were just more expensive versions of the same game. No reason to spend extra money. This game is sure to eventually earn platinum status someday.
What's great about it: Thrilling Campaign and Great Multiplayer Mode

Totally Awesome CD
on October 1, 2009

This CD can probably put into a category of AFI's best work ever. Their music was already extraordinary, but with the releases of "December Underground" and "Crash Love", their music has soared to a whole new level. This CD is worth the money at any price. Sixteen killer tracks, the harmonious stylings of Davey Havok and his band mates bring yet another unique sound to their repertoire.
What's great about it: Killer new music. They get better with every new CD.

The Best Value For the Money
on September 18, 2009
Posted by: bighonkinwalrus
from Cleveland, Ohio
The only downfall of this card is that you can use the internet and play online with your friends for free via a PS3 and the Nintendo Wii. Do your math and stop buying the single month or 3 month memberships. Save your pennies.
1 year = $49.99 / 365 days = $0.14 / DAY
3 months = $19.99 / 180 days = $0.22 / DAY
1 month = $7.99 / 30 days = $0.26 / DAY
Obviously the value is clear. Impatience wastes money.
What's great about it: This card is a better value than its counterparts.
What's not so great: Internet Play on PS3 and Wii is free.

A Game that is absolutely thrilling to play.

After reading the reviews and watching videos of gameplay online, there was no way I could pass this game up. The entire game is focused on jumping, leaping, running, and using quick reflexes to scale rooftops and avoid enemies. I like that the game is set in a first person style, but has very little use of weapons or violence to avoid enemies. Its mostly disarming them, and running. You could probably get through the entire game without killing anyone if you really wanted to.
There is nothing more thrilling than using a zipline to slide from one skyscraper to another, and then drop and tumble as you go. The scenery is interesting. It has an odd but nice scheme that is pleasant to the eye. And with X-Box 360 you are awarded constant achievements just for completing the levels giving you a higher desire to continue with the game and work harder to complete it. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes the first person style, who wants to shake up their gaming experience a bit.
What's great about it: You preform all kinds of acrobatic moves in a first person style.
What's not so great: N/A

It Rocks. End of Story.

I'm not positive if this game would be worth the original $59.99 with the limited campaign, but its definitely worth it now. The game has countless weapons, stellar graphics and the ability of an ever changing battlefield. Can't find the door to a building? Just blow a hole in the wall and jump on through. Sniper hiding in a tower? Bust out your rocket launcher and take the tower down.
My favorite parts of the game have to include running from tanks in attack buggies, flying the gold chopper near the end of the campaign, and destroying farms, houses, towers, and mowing down trees. No where to run or hide. And these game abilities make playing the game online a blast. Pick it up. Its a good price and the game won't be around forever.
What's great about it: Stellar Graphics, 90% Environment Destruction, Good Price Now.
What's not so great: Short Campaign, but two different difficulties.

For the ultimate NBA fan, this is the game for you. This is a game where you can play against the Wii, or play online versus another human somewhere in the world. You can play as any of the 30 teams in full season mode with settings to fit your game play. There are all star activities too, like the Slam Dunk Contest, and 3-Point Shootout. The controls are easy to use so you don't have to be a basketball player to play this game. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone.
What's great about it: Everything; teams, game modes, players...
What's not so great: Can't think of a thing.

Seriously?

I payed $29.99 for this game and thought it would be great. It was either for PC or Wii. I heard jumping was poor in the Wii version, so I bought PC. Perhaps playing the game for only about an hour doesn't give it the credit it is due, but in that limited time, here's what I see;
* You'd think that you could use the arrow keys to move and the keys W,A,S,D to do other things...not so. W,A,S,D control one character, Robin, and the arrow keys, control the other Batman...or vice versa.
* You run around collecting little Legos and after reading the manual multiple times, I don't know what they're for.
I don't see the game getting much better soon, so if you're going to buy it, buy it for Wii, that way if you don't like it, at least someone will buy it off you...unlike PC games.
What's great about it: I like Legos, and I like Batman
What's not so great: I don't have all day.

The game itself was a nice attempt at trying to make an arcade style game. There's trivia, skee ball, air hockey. The games themselves are at times difficult to play (i.e. air hockey). To recommend this game to a friend would be a stretch, so I figured I'd put YES. But its 50/50 for me.
What's great about it: Games are pretty cool.
What's not so great: Don't expect to be entertained all day. Its a rainy day game after you've played all your other Wii games.

does the new xbox 360 250gb get the red ring of death?

Any X-box 360 can get the red ring of death. Its all about chance. Even AFTER they said all the problems were fixed, friends, and family have had to ship their boxes back for repair even if they were bought "after" the problem was fixed. Which proves it can happen to anyone. Cut down on extended use at one time and it can prevent parts from overheating which is the main cause of the red ring of death.

how much floor space

Want to get a Wii , but floor space is a concern. Only have about seven feet across by four feet deep to work with. Can any of the sports games be played in this small of an area?
I'm not going to lie, I had my Wii set up in a similar space and to play most of the "motion" games, I had to move it. I had a sloped ceiling in my room and had to play most of the games sideways while looking at the TV; i.e.: golf and bowling especially. And trying to picture the space you have, which is 28 feet squared, I can say that SOME of the sports games could be played with ease, but not all. You would definitely have some difficulty with some. They say sometimes that more is better, and with that, I'd suggest getting more space if at all possible.

will all best buys in the Tucson, Az area be open for the midnight release of Halo 3 ODST?

I was offered this question three times, so I assume that the site wants me to answer. The bottomline is, I live in Cleveland, but if I were in your shoes, what I would do is call the store you want to pick your game up at and ask that specific store if they will be open. That way it doesn't matter if they're all open, because you yourself only need one to be open.

Is it possible to connect a Wii to a computer so that it can be projected through a LCD projector?

My company is interested in purchasing a Wii for some wellness events, however, we would need it to be capable to be easily connected to a computer and projected through a LCD projector.

Is this possible?
There are USB ports on the back of the Wii. My 56" HD TV has USB ports on it as well (though not directly related to the question I'm getting there). After speaking with associates at places like Best Buy and Radio Shack, I found out that it is possible to connect items. I asked about hooking my computer up to the TV with a USB-USB connection cable, but was told it is possible to do, however not with a cable with identical ends.

Since the Wii has USB cable ports on it, my answer would be yes, I just can't tell you what kind of connection. You would need to ask an associate on how to do that. But looking at the connection properties, and the fact that the Wii does have wireless internet sensors built in, it is highly possible to do.
