Funny movie, but why so much childish jokes?

If it wasn't for Jessica Alba, I probably wouldn't have given this movie a second look. Luckily I did, because it's pretty funny. It crosses the line into poor taste quite often, but when the man-child of a friend isn't on screen, it's a pretty good movie. I wouldn't buy it, but definately one I'd rent more than once.
What's great about it: Jessica Alba as a clumsy cutie
What's not so great: All the crude humor

Worst of the Indy movies, but it's still Indy!!!
on October 18, 2008

There are numerous problems with this movie. In my opinion, certain characters shouldn't get old. Rocky, Rambo, Martin Riggs... Indy is another one. Although, like Rocky, it was handled well enough that it didn't matter so much. The two biggest problems with this movie both stem from the skulls.
Because of the skulls, this movie goes into sci-fi territory which is quite a difference from the more mystical/fantasy elements that Indy's known for. If you haven't seen the movie, I won't ruin it for you, but you'll know what I mean when you see it.
The other is that the best of the Indy movies dealt with religious artifacts which are already very well known, regardless of what religion you are. This movie is focused on an item that, until the movie, I had never heard about.
There are other minor issues that you'll notice, but in the end, it's still Indiana Jones. It's still fun, just not as fun as the past flicks.

I never thought I'd like Iron Man...

Never cared for Iron Man or Robert Downey Jr. but this movie has changed my mind about them both. Downey creates the perfect blend needed for the Stark character and the way the story plays out is great too. I kept waiting for the "cheese" moment, but it never came. Came close once, but gratefully it just walked that line and never crossed. The only complaint would be that I think Terrance Howard was miscast for the tough as nails James Rhodes. His voice, the babyface, deminor... none of it said he was raised in the streets and was a military man.
What's great about it: Funny, cool tech, good story, great extras
What's not so great: It's another 3 years till the sequel

Wall E needs to take care of this waste

I've written this review before, but I'll have to do it again, but shorter.
Don't buy this game unless you want to spend hours just collecting tokens, which is pretty much what this game comes down to. There's very little variety and it's probably a bit too challenging for the only age group that would be entertained by the constant coin collecting that sums up this game. Spend your money on something else. You'll be doing your kid a favor.
What's great about it: It's got Wall E...
What's not so great: ...to take your hard earned money

Good date movie

Ryan Renolds has always been at his best as the funny man in movies, that's probably part of the reason I didn't care for the Amittyville remake, but this movie plays to his strengths and lets him branch out a little too. While I have a bit of a hard time believing him as a father, though he's old enough, he still has that early college age look to him. The ending seemed a little hard to believe too, but it's still set up nicely and it has a great story to it. It also has a few nice reminders of what life was like in the late 80's/early 90's.

Starts good, gets tired

The best part of this movie is the over the top and crazy action scenes, but when they try to make it into a love story, it kinda falls flat. The end has a great message and there's plenty of laughs to be had along the way, but trying to squeeze in the love interest seemed more forced into the story than part of the story itself.

A friend brought over this movie and I really didn't expect much. I hoped it'd be funny, I wasn't dissapointed. It's a pretty good date movie for both guys and girls and I almost (ALMOST) want to see the Dracula musical peformed.

There was a time I would've waited in line to see a M. Night movie... those days are gone. Up until The Village, I loved his movies, and even that movie I thought was pretty decent, but this one I waited until it was on DVD to see and I almost felt it was a waste of time. With the exceptions of a couple actors, the acting is pretty bad (in the extras Night says he wanted to make "the best B movie" ever made, but it's still pretty bad acting by that standard). The story seems farfetched, even some of the "normal" people seem crazy and some of the victims of the plague seem to put too much thought into how to die to make even that much believable. If you want a good movie by this director/writer, go with any of the first three films he made.
What's great about it: Interesting plot idea
What's not so great: everything else

get the PS2 version
on October 1, 2008

I enjoyed this game. I also enjoyed Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones, but the formula has to get shaken up a little bit to be worth my $50 at this point. There's nothing really new here aside from the setting and, as great as it is that the PS3 takes advantage of the HD setup, for a game like Batman, a grainier look is more appropriate instead of the crisp, clean look. Oddly enough, that's one reason I'd suggest the PS2 version instead, BECAUSE it's not as crisp and clean. For that reason, the fact that it's $20 cheaper and that as far as gameplay goes, I don't think there's anything different. Do yourself a favor, save the extra money for the next game you want (maybe the next Lego game even) and get the cheaper version.
What's great about it: Batman. villians. Legos. 'nuff said.
What's not so great: Expensive for what it is, "crisp, clean" graphics aren't Batman

Amazing 1st season
on September 27, 2008
Posted by: Gorkous
from mankato, MN
Most shows have a pretty good first season, and the writers take until the second to hit their stride. This series kinda follows that trend, but for the most part it does it right from the get go. The first part of the season has a "hazy" look to it, but by the end of it, the look of the show is what you would see on the show now. The way they go through solving the problem is kinda like a murder mystery before the murderer can strike and then there's the comedic time House has to spend in the clinic with "regular" patients which helps to eleviate the drama.
What's great about it: House is an awesome jerk
What's not so great: the "hazy" look of the first part of the season

How can I buy the AC/DC Live rock band pack? It doesn't seem to be available on the PS Store.

Go to an actual, brick and mortor store and pick it up. It's that simple.

Does the Wii play DVD's?

Sadly, no. Kinda pointless though since most everyone at this point has a DVD player or a different system that will play them.

what is the difference between rockband and guitarhero which is better

Rock Band has multiple instuments (two guitars, drums, and a microphone) and has songs that have been programed to make use of all those instruments. With Guitar Hero, you use just that. A guitar and only a guitar. The songs weren't created with the other instruments in mind, but with Rock Band, you don't have to use all the instuments if you don't want to or don't have the people there at the moment.
