Stephen Sondheim's award-winning musical thriller comes to the big screen in this adaptation directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Timothy Spall, and Alan Rickman. Embittered at having been wrongly imprisoned and determined to seek vengeance against his accusers due to the grim fate that befell his wife and daughter while he was incarcerated, ex-convict Sweeney Todd (Depp) returns to his hometown and opens a modest barber shop. The one thing different about Todd's shop, however, is that no one who walks in for a trim is ever seen again. Subsequently branded "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" by the frightened community, Todd continues with his murderous exploits with a little assistance from his amorous accomplice, Mrs. Lovett (Bonham Carter) -- whose popular meat pies secretly have a most unsavory ingredient.

I wasn't quite sure how to rate this movie because I'm still not sure how I feel about it. It was weird to see Depp play this kind of role. During the movie, I wasn't too thrilled about it but after it was done and I had time to think about it I came to like it more and more.

Runaway Bride, the film that reteamed Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, comes to DVD with a good 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. There is an English soundtrack in Dolby Digital 5.1, as well as English and French tracks in Dolby Digital Surround. Subtitles are available in English. In addition to the usual theatrical trailer, director Garry Marshall provides a commentary track. Country music fans will appreciate the inclusion of the video for "Ready to Run" by the Dixie Chicks.

Roberts and Gere are at their best in this movie what keeps you guessing until the end.

When I saw this great cast I was hoping for a really good movie but I was disappointed. I think that it could have been better.

Barry Levinson's Academy Award-winning comedy drama about a callow young man who learns a great deal during a road trip with his autistic brother gets a top-flight presentation for this special-edition DVD release. Rain Man has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has also been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The original English soundtrack has been remixed for playback in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a dubbed French version appears in Dolby Digital Surround and a Spanish track is in Dolby Digital Mono. The feature also includes optional subtitles in English, French, and Spanish. Headlining the list of bonus materials are no fewer than three commentary tracks from director Barry Levinson and screenwriters Ronald Bass and Barry Morrow. Also included is a deleted scene, a short feature on the making of Rain Man, a gallery of still photos, and the original theatrical trailer.

This was one of Tom's best roles. This is a great movie that shows a very common disease that many people don't really know about and it shows that people with it still can have a good life... if they are with people who truely care about them!

IS IT WORTH PAYING SOMEONE TO CALABRATE OR TWEEK THE SETTINGS ON MY SAMSUNG 52A650 LCD
Yes!! It is very much worth it. They make your tv look the very best that it can in your setting. I would recommend anyone doing this with a tv 42" or larger.
