Joe Dante's Small Soldiers comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. Spanish and French subtitles are accessible, and the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include deleted scenes, the theatrical trailer, biographies of the cast, and a demonstration of an interactive game based on the film. This is a solid release from Dreamworks that boasts excellent sound and picture quality.

When I was younger I thought that my toys could actually do this so it was fun to see a movie about it.

Not Cage's best movie but still pretty fun to watch. A good movie for the family.

The Rookie, the inspirational story of Jim Morris, a high school teacher who realized his dream of becoming a big-league baseball player, makes its way to DVD. Picture and sound on this disc are top notch. The image, framed at 2.35:1, and anamorphic, is nearly perfect. Skin tones are well balanced, while the darker scenes are solid with no signs of breakdown. Colors are quite vivid, re-creating the theatrical experience nicely. The audio elements, 5.1 Dolby Digital tracks in English and French, are surprisingly strong. While the majority of the sound is located up front, there are some very effective moments where the Surrounds take control. Though not labeled a special edition, this disc does contain some nice extra features. For starters, there is a scene-specific commentary track from director John Lee Hancock and Dennis Quaid. Though a bit dry at times, and lacking much enthusiasm, this is made up by their obvious love for the project and their knowledge of the subject. A definite plus is a 20-minute featurette on the real Jim Morris with cast, crew, and Morris interviews, that is really so good it seems too short. Though they will probably appeal only to a specific part of the audience, there are also some baseball tips aimed at younger viewers. Finally, along with seven deleted scenes, hosted by Hancock, are a number of previews for additional Disney titles that round out this exceptional disc.

Men in Black II comes to DVD with an anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Subtitles are accessible in both of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by director Barry Sonnenfeld, a handful of featurettes covering every aspect of the film's production, a music video from Will Smith, multi-angle options on some scenes, and filmographies. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access a game, the film's script, and screensavers for a PC. This is a superb release from Columbia/TriStar.

Once again a movie with Will Smith in it is really good. I think we have found a trend.

Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear play conjoined twins in the Farrelly Brothers comedy Stuck on You. This DVD contains a widescreen anamorphic transfer of the film that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. The disc offers a healthy amount of supplemental materials, headed by a commentary track by co-directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly. As with other commentaries the Farrellys have recorded for their other films, this track is heavy on the boys pointing out the various friends and celebrity athletes that appear in the margins of seemingly every shot in the film. They also confess to some surprising influences for Stuck on You, including Y Tu Mam~ Tambi~n. There are also a handful of deleted scenes, three making-of featurettes, including one on how they created the perfect makeup to show how the two were stuck together, and a better-than-average blooper reel. Trailers round out this solid title from 20th Century Fox.

IS IT WORTH PAYING SOMEONE TO CALABRATE OR TWEEK THE SETTINGS ON MY SAMSUNG 52A650 LCD

Yes!! It is very much worth it. They make your tv look the very best that it can in your setting. I would recommend anyone doing this with a tv 42" or larger.
