BEST. RAZOR. EVER.
on January 8, 2010

I first of all want to say I'm in no way connected with the Braun company, not a paid endorser, just a plain old everyday customer. I just believe in giving kudos where due.
I tried several brands of electric razor lately. I wasn't impressed with any of them. From cheap batteries to bad overall design to just plain not shaving very well, they simply didn't work and were promptly returned.
I finally decided to spend an extra ten bucks and buy the Braun. Wise decision. This razor is excellent. The shape fits the hand well, the single-foil razor travels well over the skin and shaves very well. The battery is heavy duty, much nicer than other brands.
In short, Braun's reputation is well earned. This is an excellent product.
What's great about it: Just about everything
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good movie, poor extras
on December 30, 2009
Posted by: Wayfinder

The movie of course rocks. Don't even need to go there. Star Trek franchise rescued and reborn.
But the "extras" with the set left me cold. The badges are great-- heavy metal with clothing pins. No cheap plastic knock-offs here. Would have liked to seen a display case of some sort-- even a cheap plastic one. ; )
However, the "extras" in the set are greatly lacking. The so-called "digital copy" is poor quality and restricted by Paramount to ONE installation (so forget putting it on your desktop and laptop). This is a case of worst abuse of digital protection and IMO, is an abuse of the concept.
The "extras" disc came up short both in content and quality. One would think with a Blu-Ray disc they could cram a whole lot more on 25 gigs. I'm sure there was no shortage of fan-interest information in the development of the movie... so I'd have to call that "rushing it to the market". They could have done lots better.
In the end game, I found myself wishing I'd bought the DVD version so I could play it on my laptop if I took a notion. The Blu-Ray edition of course is excellent quality, no issues there. But Paramount's extreme restriction of a poor-quality "digital copy" is a customer-unfriendly policy that does nothing to promote good will or additional purchases of "digital copy" media.
What's great about it: Great movie, hands down
What's not so great: Shoddy "digital copy", no disply case for badges
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quite powerful, very cool GPU
By Awk34 from near Louisville, KY
Although it took me about a day and a half to install, it ran pretty good when it was in.I can run games pretty well now. I also saw a great improvement with my visual arts work (after effects, Maya, Photoshop, etc). It is always cool., even when overclocked. It starts out with a core clock of 740, bumped up to 800. The shader starts at 1836, OCed to 1992. Memory starts at 2000, moved to 2200.

GeForce 250 Rocks
July 25, 2010
Not to be contrary, but I can't imagine what would take a day and a half to install this card. 30 to 60 minutes should do it, tops. Remove old car driver. Open computer. Take out old card. Install new one. Hook in power leads. Install drivers. Done deal. If it takes longer than that, I'd have to believe it's not card issues, but external system issues that have to be addressed.
For my money the GeForce GTS 250 is the very best price to performance ratio card on the market. One can spend more on ridiculously fast cards... but it's not really necessary. This card can handle everything I throw at it and much more. I find it far superior to ATI cards in reliability and system compatibility.

Garbage
By w00lyb00ger from Kansas City, MO
Bought one of these to replace my first generation iPad. That was a HUGE mistake! The applications available for it are just pathetic in comparison to what I was using. Very tablet specific apps. Mostly apps designed for a phone and just blown up to cover the screen rather than leverage the extra screen real estate to add more features. The UI is completely unintuitive. I figured it all out but I had to look a lot of things up online to figure out how to use it's features because much of it wasn't very obvious.
After further research I come to find out that there's all kinds of malware and exploits out there for Android. An almost 700% increase in viruses and malware quarter over quarter? Are you kidding me? I should have done my research. I blew it. Ah well, next time I'll buy another iPad or try one of those Windows tablets. I saw dollar signs when I bought this. But it's just one more example of getting what you pay for.

Valid review or not?
July 16, 2013
With respect my first impression here: Is this a valid review or just another Mac user griping about other operating systems.
First we're told the applications are pathetic in comparison to iPad. I'm sorry, I've tried iTunes and I am not impressed. Amazon Tunes for Android is much more user friendly... and less expensive as well.
Then he spoke about malware and exploits... as if no such things appear on the Mac. News: the Mac has malware and exploits too. But the Android community doesn't try to hide them or pretend they don't exist. We get the word out so people can protect themselves. That way they don't have to bring their system in to a pricey tech that tells them their system is ruined and the only choice is to replace their new pad with a refurbished or new model at a cost of $$$. Myself, I just use a FREE anti-malware ap that seems to stop them all right in their tracks. : )
It would seem odd to purchase a totally different computer platform without researching it first. One can go into any Android store and fully examine several lines-- available software and all.
Ask my friend whose iPad screen got cracked how he feels about having to turn it in and pay for a whole new system because they can't be repared.
Every system has its pro and con and the Mac vs Windows vs Linux controversy has gone on forever. I just have to wonder about yet another Apple user being so upset about how rotten non-apple equipment is. Because I gotta say, the limitations I find in the performance of Mac (the lack of connectivity, the lack of repairability, and the PRICE) were are real turn-off to me.

Super slow response
By andyreviews from Los Angeles
I dont think this tablet is going to make you happy. First of all, its very slow. All the other features are great such as the screen multi-taksing, new settings, and the other features. The battery overheats pretty quick and you wont be able to play games for more then 5 minutes without being overheat. My biggest problem is that the internet is slow; and I mean SUPER slow. The tablet responds very slow. Its going to make you angry at some point. I think its not worth it to buy. Id suggest getting the Kindle Fire or an Ipad.

Based on your description, I would say you got a defective tablet. My first response would be to return it for replacement. Surely you realize something must be wrong with it.

Adobe Premiere Elements 14 is RUBBISH/TRASH
By DisappointedCustomer
Don't buy it, it's not good! It is not user friendly, very limited and it is not supported by YouTube. Don't waste your time editing your vids using this software because you won't be able to upload them on YouTube. Also the Bestbuy managers were not helpful. Not to mention ADOBE does not have a live agent you can talk to. DO NOT BUY IT! I will post a YouTube Video telling you all about this horrible experience.

Videos won't upload to YouTube?
Are you stating that Adobe Premier Elements-- one of the most widely-used video editing software packages on the market, doesn't have the ability to save in .mp4 format? Seriously?

it is charging at 230 V like we use in Europe

You would have to use a USA to European power adapter. These are easily available. If you already have a European to microUSB power adapter, should work fine.

Is the Tab3 8GB capable of getting Updates to the latest Android version?

I thought I read somewhere that some tablets were not capable of accepting the latest version of Android, that now has the ability to create User Profiles for a tablet that different family members share. Can this one be updated, assuming there is a valid WIFI connection ??
Thanks
To an extent, yes. Since I bought it 2 months ago it has gone from Jellybean 4.2 to 4.2.2. It always takes companies time to adapt the latest version of Android to their systems, so I'll have to wait a bit to see if they incorporate 4.3 or 4.4. However 4.2 works great; it's a very powerful version of Android and easy to use.

Can you play the game Hay Day on this?

It's a powerful tablet. I'm not acquainted with Hay Day but this should handle just about anything a good Android tablet would handle.

What type of plug can I use in order to play my Ipod touch in my car

You will have to have an Apple-proprietary, Ipod-specific plug. There are numerous such devices available on the market.

how can i unlock ipod 2GB iPod

"unlock" an Ipod? It's not a telephone; shouldn't require to be unlocked. It plays music and video. If you're talking about removing DMRA protection, good luck with that. Apple is pretty good about protecting their tails-- even to the detriment of legitimate customers-- and in the face of numerous competitors who don't have such limitations (which is why I don't have an Ipod). ; )

Further info as to what you're trying to achieve will likely receive more informative answers.

Can any webcam be used with HP desktop

It's always dangerous to say "yes, ANY webcam" can be used, but generally that's a fairly safe comment. Webcams are in general designed to be "plug and play" into a USB port. So logically speaking, if you have a USB port and a USB webcam, it should work. But don't quote me, and remember Murphy's Law. : )

transfer files

can I & what do I need to transfer files from a laptop with windows vista to a netbook with windows 7? What type of cable is needed?
There are many ways to do so. You can purchase a USB or Ethernet networking kit that allows the two computers to connect in a local network, which is likely the fastest way to transfer files. Another way is to use a thumbdrive, which now have incredible volume for low cost. Thumbdrives act as mini hard drives, are viewed by your system in the same manner, and can be used to transfer files from one system to the other with relative ease.

If you want the headache way out, equip your laptop with a WiFi broadcaster device and set your netbook up as a remote access system. That does require certain installation and security skills, so while highly efficient may not be the easiest way to go.

which laptop to buy?

I am looking for a laptop where the writing is larger. I play pogo and the game does not come up large. I don't want to buy one and then find out I cannot have this feature.
The larger the screen, the larger the "writing". Unfortunately, some games are fixed in size relative to the screen, cannot be enlarged, and only a larger screen will bring about the desired affect. Unfortunately, the larger the screen the more cumbersome and heavy the laptop.

What you may try is altering the resolution of your screen. As an example, I use a hi-def 40" television monitor as my desktop screen, but the resolution (1080p) results in lettering that is far too tiny. So for computer use, I changed the resolution to 1360 x 768, which still provides wonderful clarity but enlarged the lettering and overall view to be sufficient to my needs.

Many laptops have very high resolution screens. It may be actually necessary to reduce screen resolution to meet your needs.

If this fails, my suggestion (truthfully): find another game to play than Pogo. There are lots of fun, enjoyable games out there that are much less costly than buying a new laptop. : )

Best wishes!

What is a better OS for gaming Vista 32 or Vista 64?

What is a better OS for gaming, Windows Vista 32 or Windows Vista 64 Ultimate edition?

I heard that Windows 7 isn't much better than any of the Vista editions.
My favorite system for gaming overall is XP, hands down. I have tried both Vista and Windows 7 and am impressed with neither version. Windows 7 is considerably better than Vista, and there are some advantages over XP. However, those advantages pale in comparison with the disadvantages: high cost, user-unfriendly attitude and abusive EULA.

Between Vista 32 and Vista 64, the information I get from friends and techs is: "It doesn't matter, both are pretty lousy." So my opinion is go with the 32 for the greater software compatibility. Just be aware that with Vista, many, many XP compatible games simply will not work.

In my opinion and the opinion of most of my tech friends: if you're an XP user, don't upgrade. If you're a Vista user, upgrade to Windows 7 if you must, but don't expect it to live up to corporate hype.

Windows 7 has some serious problems, both in the fact that the Professional version is very, very home unfriendly, but the Home version doesn't have all the things that many home users will need. I think Micro$oft shot themselves in the foot on Windows 7 in more ways than one, and have done nothing more than make the statement that "We're so out of touch with our customers it's sad."
