iria is about a bounty hunter that is following in her older brothers footsteps. After a botched mission Iria loses her older brother gren to genetically engineered super weapon/ monster called Zeiram. She escapes the ship Zeiram was on that her brother and a partner bounty hunter were trapped and killed on. Iria returns to earth but later has to face Zeiram in a duel to the death with the added bonus that Zeiram is still connected to her brother and her brother gren is still alive. The whole story follows iria as she tries to uncover the truth behind what Zeiram is and how to stop him. Great story and one of my old favorites, thanks Sci fi channel!
What's great about it: girls with guns
What's not so great: old animation

if you liked the first matrix movie and are still crying about what happened to the sequels this little set of shorts might help heal your heartache. in the vein of old liquid television ala mid 1990s this volume of films recaps what made the matrix great. each short has a different animation style and different characters. the animation of one short is all computer generated like a lot pixars films are now, and another features animation reminiscent of aeon flux. each story carries a bit of the matrix universe in it just from a different perspective than the films, so no Neo involved, enjoy!
What's great about it: no matrix 2 or 3 involved
What's not so great: matrix series in trash bin

it's the feature film any FF series fanatic has been drooling to see since 1997 and the days of the PS1. if you liked the game you have to see this movie. the only annoying thing about this movie is one scene with a little bad dialogue that sometimes crops up in dubbed movies, but all the rest was worth the price of admission. even if you haven't played FF7 it isn't a prerequisite

if you like anime or even if you don't this series gets top marks. if it had come out in the states and been made by an american company, it would probably be a cultural phenom. I can't think of anything bad to say the movie kicks too, and most of the characters are among my favorites of all time especially Spike.

meh, I've seen better. this show has to much of everything to be considered great in any one way. the animation isn't the best and a lot of the characters can get annoying pretty quick and are also mostly one dimensional. If someone had this I would consider borrowing it or renting it first. It's not everyones cup of tea but can still be entertaining.

saw this series a long time ago when it aired in the states. its about a future earth overrun by monsters/mutants. In short plenty of action, machines, guns, mayhem etcetera. The main character is from a bygone era and wakes up from cryo to the earth being a post apocalyptic wasteland and is saved from a untimely death by special forces or mercenaries can't remember which. The plot evolves from there with plenty of drama and a fast pace, and actually seems pretty realistic. voice overs and animation were pretty good on the english dub, i've seen the packaging this comes in and it looks like an accordion. not a big fan of accordions. but overall it's a good series. if you like evangalion you'll like this, it has the same type of drama without the teenage mood swings
What's great about it: oldie but goodie
What's not so great: bad packaging
