Sure, I could have probably done everything that the Geek Squad did on my own if I wanted to spend an entire day on it but I'm not sure I would have saved much money. We had a huge old TV that no one is their right mind would want and we would have had to pay to recycle it.
They came right on time and called on the day of delivery for final confirmation. They both were very friendly and set up the TV in under 10 minutes. After that, they went through the basic hookups and did the basic programming. There is nothing fancy here but I guess it could be helpful if you don't know how to do it yourself.
But the real value is that they took our MASSIVE old TV and will recycle it. In my opinion, this combined with basic delivery are worth the price.
In summary, even if you know how to setup a TV, this service is worth it if you: 1) Have a big old TV that no one wants and needs to be recycled 2) Need delivery of your TV
What's great about it: Recyling of the old TV is included with delivery
What's not so great: If you don't have to recycle an old TV, this would not be worth the price
I have a TV/DVD combo and the DVD player no longer works. I bought a DVD player and tried to hook it up to this TV and it doesn't work?
Are you sure that you are switching the TV to the right input? After connecting the DVD player, you will need to switch the inputs on the TV. It will say something like Video 1, Video 2, etc.
