Excellent 4k security system no monthly fee

Setup:
Unboxing was pretty standard. The extra work to initially configure was a lot. I had to connect the nvr to the internet then the cameras to nvr. Nvr to tv and then mouse. When running the setup I had to type a password with the mouse and afer it was done I was able to add the system to the swann app. I have used other systems that connected all via the mobile app. This to me is the way it should be.

Use: I found the app interface to be smooth and the quality of the footage good but I have seem better from other brands. There are great features like a night/home and away modes so you can have the system behave different based on need. The option to save footage to dropbox is a great add on. I thought the 2 way audio seemed delayed along with the playback of footage thru the app away from home.

I like the look and feel of this power bank. The fabric top is a nice touch vs the normal plastic covers. It comes with 2 USB A ports and 1 Type C. That is plenty for the size. Speaking of size it is about the size of my Iphone 13 pro but thicker. I took it for a few days of travel and it kept my Ipad, Iphone and Bose Wireless Headphones all charged over 3 days. I liked not having to run for an outlet especially when living out of a suit case. The only cons with this are the included USB cable is short and they do not include a type c fast charging brick. For the price that should have been included.
The Trickle charge is nice for small items like Air pods or headphones. This keeps the power for larger devices like Ipads and phones.

Excellent Fast Charge and Small

I noticed a great improvement in charging my Samsung S21+. It went up 20% every 36 min. My previous phone charger would take hours. Also this substitutes for any other type c charging devices. I found a good recharge time on my Nintendo Switch, Power bank and Ipad Pro.

I love that I was able to add airplay to my soundbar that did not have bluetooth. It gave new features to my older tech. Now I can play music in my family room and stream direct from my phone. Setup was super simple and the quality is great.

Good smart frames but need improvement

I had high hopes for these since I wear computer glasses and liked the idea of having speakers and mic’s without anything in my ear. That feature works but the mic’s are not that good and the speakers could be louder. The lenses that come are just clear and do not seem to offer blue light relief so really makes my eyes strain more. The battery will not make it thru the work day. On a plus side they are turned off by setting them down upside down. As for the Alexa features you need to open the app in IOS to use so makes it more work than it is worth.
I would prefer them with tinted lenses like amber and 8 hour battery life.

Best video editing software yet

I have used every version of Adobe Premiere Elements since 2015 and most features have seemed minor and not useful for just merging family movies for archiving. This has a new guided shadow/highlight feature that allows Lightroom quality editing of the video footage with a easy to use slider system. Very welcomed. I also like the ability to convert the videos to social media formats like Tik Tok, instagram, etc. it adjusts based on the platforms aspect ratio. Performance is fast and I like that it puts the imported media in a separate working folder.

My wife has been using this with the cylce app. She feels like it is a lot of effort to keep it in her mouth for several minutes in the morning. We did hit our most fertile time according to the app. Time will tell if that was accurate. This would be much better if it logged the info to the app automatically and if the time was quick like the temporal scanners.

No Fee but heavy delay when recording

I like the concept here. 4 x camera's that are wireless with an included NVR that you can setup with your smart phone. That is all great. When setting up it was pretty easy. Just download the app and scan the NVR then after you create an account you scan the QR code for each camera and label them. All set. When testing them the footage was just very delayed. It was hard to test since if your wanting to be notified when a presence is at your house there will be a delay in footage. That can be frustrating. However if your patient the footage is real clear and the night mode is good/great. I did not like the power adapters as there was no real way to extend them and cover the brick from the outside elements. I wish they offered housing to seal it to the outlet or extend the power so I can place the camera's more central on my home. The App was reliable and very intuitive. I did feel like the 2 way audio was above average and clear. I am just not sure that there would be times I would talk to my backyard except to yell at the dogs. They did not yell back :)
In summary this is a great system for someone who does not want to run wiring to the camera's and does not want monthly subscriptions. This fits that need well. If you have capability to run ethernet then there are better solutions. If you do not have power at each location then there are other solutions that are battery operated. It in the end depends on the need you have for the best application.

Alarm function is not reliable

I wanted to like this... I set the alarm up physically on the unit and option 1 never went off. I later found out that option 1 is just for Wed or any day of the week. Option 2 is everyday. Who makes an alarm like this? I overslept. Then Day 2 I used the app to program the alarm and then at midnight it went off. I am not sure why when the alarm was set to 6am. I stopped using it from there as an alarm clock. The bed time rest is nice in that it will display a dim color and can play sounds like falling rain for awhile to help you fall asleep. I did not feel any better rested after 5 days of use. I did finally set this on when I woke up with my alarm and did not find the light to make me feel energized. Maybe others will have a better experience.

Nice but requires smart bulbs for benefits

Unboxing and connnecting the switch was easy. I did have trouble with the configuration. It would not find my wireless network. Every other smart device I have works. I ended up having to create a seperate 2.4ghz SSID to allow this to be discovered. Once that was done it went smooth.

I thought this would allow my regular switch to become smart so I could turn it off from another room. This is appealing since the kids leave lights on all the time. I did realize that only one button works for the on/off. It has a little pulse to give you the feeling that you pressed something. The other button would be nice for their smart bults to add mood lighting to the room. I still have yet to get that. My son still keeps pressing the buttons like the old physical switch so I wish there was a way to make that work like the old one until you add to the system.

Other final thoughts:
I like the concept but like a lot of smart lighting there is not a full portfolio to outfit your home without substituting brands or living without. For example I have a lot of 2-3 light switches and there is not one made by this company. Also the bulbs are needed to make the experience whole. Finally the value I am not sure about since you have to pay quite a bit to gain some different scene options and be able to control the lights from anywhere in the house. I think this tech is still in development.

It is a huge step up from the original IPhone. Each Year they get better and better. This year finally the most needed thing (larger Display). I only wish the 2 features in the plus were in this and it would have been perfect. Full 1080p display and the optical Image Stabilization. The Plus is nice but its practically a tablet and really should have been able to have those features in both. Otherwise very happy with the upgrade.
