This game is incredibly fun and well written. The online multiplayer experience is great and typically doesn't have many issues. The only thing I didn't like was the $10 map pack. I'm not a big fan of downloadable content, and I didn't think I should have to pay $10 to keep playing along with everyone. This basically killed my streak of playing regularly. Otherwise, the gameplay is great and the game looks amazing.
What's great about it: Control system is intuitive, graphics are excellent, storyline is well written
What does the American Dream mean today? For Niko Bellic, fresh off the boat from Europe, it is the hope he can escape his past. For his cousin, Roman, it is the vision that together they can find fortune in Liberty City, gateway to the land of opportunity. As they slip into debt and are dragged into a criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream. I really enjoyed all the time I spent playing this game. The graphics were very realistic, but still "cartoony" enough to make me feel I was playing a game and not some weird mob simulator. The movement controls are great and intuitive, although the driving is sometimes hard to control. The only time the driving bothers me is when I am in a higher end sports car. I know that a junk car is supposed to drive poorly, but it seems as if the really nice cars drive even worse. It would be nice if the fast cars were actually good at cornering like an actual sports car would be.
The gameplay area is enormous which is great, but sometimes it takes a very long time to get to a destination. This isn't such a big deal unless you have to travel 10 minutes at the beginning of a mission...then if you fail, you have to spend 10 more boring minutes driving around. It would be nice to have a checkpoint after a certain point so I don't waste so much time just driving around. I guess that's a silly complaint for a game called Grand Theft Auto, but that's one thing that would cause me to quit playing for the night.
Multi-player is fun, but kind of confusing. The objective isn't always clear, and the gameplay area is a little too big for an online multiplayer. I would sometimes drive around for 10 minutes just to find the opponents. That really takes away from the action. Also, if you back out of a multi-player game, it takes you all the way to single player, then you have to restart multi-player which basically wastes 5 minutes of your time with all the absurd load times. This also brings to mind the fact that you have to start single player to start multiplayer. Why can't there be a menu that takes care of this? That would save tons of time.
In summary, the gameplay is awesome, the plot is great and really immerses you in the game, but there are some little quirks that really annoyed me. This is definitely worth playing.
What's great about it: Great story line, lots of things to do
What's not so great: Traveling the vast gameplay area gets boring, multiplayer is kind of confusing and sometimes hard to find a game

I'm not going to bother reviewing the movie, because there are plenty of well written reviews out there. I thought it was great, end of story.
The blu ray disc would not play on my PS3 when I first tried it. I was very upset since I had been waiting a long time for this movie to come out, and I thought my PS3 was broken. I did some searching online and found out there is an issue with the BD Live. When you first start the movie, it goes to this blue ring (like Iron Man's chest power piece). This just sits there and there is no button you can press to go on. I found out why after doing some searching online. The movie is trying to access the online bonus content, but I guess there is some issue with the servers. All you have to do is go to System Settings, BD/dvd settings and change the BD Live setting. It should be set to automatically allow the disc to access the internet. Change this to "Confirm" which will make the PS3 ask you before it tries to access the internet. When you start the disc, choose decline and the movie will start up. It would have been nice if they simply put some text below the blue ring that said "BD Live data loading, please wait." That would be better than thinking my PS3 broke.
What's great about it: Great Movie
What's not so great: Doesn't play on PS3 unless you de-activate BD Live

I really like using this control over the Sixxaxis. The rumble works as you would expect it to, and the battery life doesn't seem to take a hit for that functionality.
