Closes the Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy

I enjoyed my time with AC:R and would recommend it to fans of the series, if just for some of the story content. The great part is it closes out the Ezio Trilogy, and shows him in his later years in life. Still, the amount of familiarity you experience is a little disappointing - and you will have to have played "Brotherhood" to completely understand the mechanics.
You play in a new city, interact with new characters and a "new" story yet I rarely felt that I was doing something that I hadn't done multiple times in the previous games. To put it bluntly, the game play is starting to get stale. There were some frame-rate issues, but we are late in the XBOX's life cycle, so that is to be expected.
Bomb crafting is new to the series and I will be concise. It can be cool at times, but it feels forced and is overall completely unnecessary to succeed in the game - and I rarely used the bomb crafting mechanic ever, especially considering the vast amount of options you usually have (hiring factions, ranged weapons, calling in assassins). Mediterranean defense returns but once I promoted Master Assassins to guard my dens, I never bothered with it again. "Missions" take only a few minutes and you eventually realize you're spending a lot of time sending your assassins out to do things that don't really pertain to the story and the game.
The multiplayer has been greatly improved over Brotherhood, and it is worth it for the experience and variety. It is a nice change of pace from your standard first-person multiplayer shooter, but it still doesn't have that spark that would keep me playing for more than a week or two.
For the price that the game is right now, this is definitely worth the price of admission, and you can definitely get 10-30 hours of game-play out of this game, depending if you are a completion fiend or not. Not the best in the series, and I would say it is a 3.5, not a 4.
My Best Buy number: 0022917898
My Best Buy number: 0022917898
What's great about it: More Assassin's Creed, and great to see Ezio in late years
What's not so great: Doesn't close out the story with a bang...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Batman = a must buy!

Graphics: Excellent 9.5/10
Sound: Excellent 9.5/10
Controls: Great 8.5/10
Gameplay: Excellent 9.5/10
Replay: Very Good 8.0/10
Overall: Excellent 9.0/10
Note to the reader: This game has been played through and completed in its entirety.
Graphics: Excellent 9.5/10
The graphics are excellent, the cut-scenes and in-game graphics are seamless, and this is a great addition to the Fall 2009 line-up. It looks, feels, and has undertones of being "Bioshock-esque". This title pushes this generations graphics and leaves the purchaser wanting more. The shadows, lighting effects, colors, but more importantly the motions and combat animations are great, and really immerse you into the game. The bad guys, though repetitive, are detailed along with the backgrounds, and environments. This is a rich, and engrossing, environment.
Sound: Excellent – 9.5/10
The thing that sets this game apart is the voice acting. Games have had problems with cheesy actors, but this title gets Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil to do the voices of Batman and the Joker (from the Animated series). This game has the sound, from the sounds of the punches, groans, the heightening tension of the music when an attack is coming, and the sounds of The Asylum. The ambiance is set in the different areas by the increasing tones of heightening sense of importance through the use of music in this game.
Controls: Great - 8.5/10
Very well done and responsive control set. During combat, the controls can be pinpoint accurate, and makes it fun when playing the challenges. The downside is the use of Batman's arsenal, which the controls are lack accuracy.
Gameplay: Excellent – 9.5/10
Let me start by saying that when playing this game, there is nothing better than having an excellent Batman Game. With or without Batman, this game would be fun regardless, but just having this license makes it that much better. However, that being said, this game is a single player experience, and that is not a bad thing. Having a multi-player may have actually hurt this title. The computer A.I. will shoot you in the back, hunt you down, and will be aware of where you have been.
Replay Value: Very Good - 8.0/10
Once the game is over, you will most likely be wanting more. Luckily, there are many unlockables, multiple difficulty levels, and a challenge mode, with more maps to come, to keep you going. You will want to find all the upgrades for every weapon, and compare your times to your friends. After all that is said and done, you will have got your money's worth.
Overall – Excellent 9.0/10
This is an excellent game, and is almost a 10/10, but it is not perfect. This game is a nice addition to the end of the Summer 2009 release schedule and is worth every penny. This game is a great mix of pure action and stealth.
This game is a mix of Gears of War, Bioshock, and Assassin's Creed. Where this game does many things right, it is flawed and glitch in just as many areas. If this were another title name, I would still have enjoyed it still as much.
Verdict: BUY IT
What's great about it: New, fun, and excellent Batman Experience
What's not so great: Replayability interest
I would recommend this to a friend!

50 Cent: Blood in the Sand is a fun playthrough

OVERALL GAME RATING (QUICKVIEW)
Graphics: 8/10
Sound: 9/10
Controls: 7/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Replay: 6/10
Overall: 7.5/10
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are very good in this game. I went into the game with low expectations (considering the last 50 Cent game release). The in-game rendering, images, and colors really put you into the desert. The most interesting thing that this game does well are the explosions, and the animations of the deaths. The shadows, lighting effects, and motions are good, and get you into the game. The enemies, though generic and repetitive, are well done, and the boss battles look great when in the heat of the mix.
Sound: 9/10
What gives this game a 9/10 in the sound department is the soundtrack. If you are a “50” fan, you will love this soundtrack. I wanted to keep playing the game to progress further and to obtain more and more songs. The score to the game is great too. The explosions, enemy banter, and side commentary really fill in this game. Don’t let your kids play it though.
The voice acting is good for what it is. What is impressive is that they were able to get Lance Reddick (The Wire/ Fringe) for a cameo role.
Controls: 7/10
The game is easy to pick up and play if you are a fan of the Gears of War series. The controls get a little sketchy when you want to run from cover to cover, or when you want to pinpoint a grenade throw. The shooting aspect is very well done, but the movement and cover controls knock this score down a bit.
Gameplay: 7/10
Let me start by saying that when playing this game with a friend in the co-op mode, there is nothing better. But if you have to go it solo, this is still a fun experience. This game can be completed in about 4-8 hours (depending on skill level and difficulty setting), but it is an enjoyable experience. It is a through back to some fun gaming without the serious overtones found in many games.
Replay Value – 6/10
This is a good game, and a fun game, to play. The game is not too serious, and silly on it’s premise of why 50 Cent is fighting the Middle East. This being said, this was an enjoyable playing experience, especially in co-op mode, to go through. All I can say is that if you disregarded this game because of it being a 50 Cent game, take another look and you won’t be disappointed.
If you liked Gears of War, then you may like this.
Game Scale:
1 – Horrible
2 – Really Bad
3 – Bad
4 – Weak
5 – Fair
6 – Above Average
7 – Good
8 – Very Good
9 – Excellent
10- Perfect
What's great about it: Fun 3rd person shooter, great soundtrack
What's not so great: controls are annoying at times

Sound: Excellent 9.0/10
Gameplay: Very Good 7.5/10
Replay: Great 8.5/10
Overall: Great 8.5/10
Note to the reader: I have been playing the Resident Evil Series since it’s introduction on the Playstation One.
Graphics: Excellent 9.0/10
The graphics are excellent, the cut-scenes and in-game graphics are seamless, and this is as good as Capcom has done for this series. The shadows, lighting effects, and motions are great, and really immerse you into the game. The zombies, the backgrounds, and environments are detailed, rich, and engrossing.
Sound: Average – 9.0/10
The thing that Capcom has always nailed in this series is the sound, and this game is no exception. The sounds of the groans, the heightening tension of the music when an attack is coming, and the sounds of the weapons are dead on. The ambiance is set in the different areas by the increasing tones of heightening sense of importance through the use of music in this game.
Some may say that the voice work is poor, but it goes right along with the “cheesy” style that this series has always had, and the delivery is spot on for those that have been with the series for some time.
Gameplay: Very Good – 7.5/10
Let me start by saying that when playing this game with a friend in the co-op mode, there is nothing better. Having to people that can communicate and work together makes this game perfect. However, that being said, when this game is played in offline mode, it is not the best experience. The computer ally A.I. will shoot you in the back, use herbs unnecessarily, and not help in the most critical times of the game.
Replay Value – Great 8.5/10
Once the game is over, you will most likely be wanting more. Luckily, there are many unlockables, difficulty levels, and time runs to keep you busy for some time. To upgrade every weapon alone (without glitching) would take 6-8 playthroughs! The mercenaries mode, further co-op adventures, and just general playing will keep you coming back for more.
The score would have been greater if Capcom didn’t already include multiplayer on the disk, and charge $5 to download the unlock patch to play multiplayer. This is a trend I do not wish to se continue.
Overall – Great 8.5/10
This is a great game, do not get me wrong, but it is not perfect. This game is a detour off the survival horror that the series has created, and perfected, and has gone down the pure action path. This is not a bad thing, but the controls don’t lend themselves to that type of gameplay.
With less suspense, more gripping events because of the sheer amount of enemies, and over the top ammo and drive of the game, it is a mixture of Resident Evil 4, Gears of War, and the Matrix. Where this game does many things right, it is flawed and glitch in just as many areas. If this were any other title, it would not have been as scrutinized as closely as it was in this title.
Resident Evil 4 was, and still is, on my top 5 games of all time. This game will not place on that list, but I must recommend it just for the sheer fun, playability, and co-op opportunities that are available. This is a must play.
What's great about it: The co-op, the replayability, the graphics
What's not so great: The single player experience

Graphics: Breathtaking 9/10
Sound: Great – 8.5/10
Gameplay: Spectacular – 9.5/10
Replay Value – High (for a single player only game) 9/10
Overall – Near Perfect 9.5/10
Please note: I have never played any prior Fallout Titles, and this is from a n00b prospective.
Graphics: Breathtaking 9/10
The graphics are make you look twice – When you first exit the vault and see the landscape, you think to yourself “what next”? The graphic interface, use of PiP Boy and the movements really show that Bethesda took the time and care to make this well worth your hard earned money.
Sound: Great – 8.5/10
The sounds, music, effects, and voices take you immediately into the game. The time specific music, the radio channels, and the voice acting are all A+. The reason for the slightly lower mark is the repetitiveness of the radio, some of the sound effects, but overall, a lot of time, and thought, went into putting in effective music, voice acting and emphasis, and surrounding wasteland. The best, yet simplistic feeling is when you first turn on this gam for the first time, and all you hear is the old 50’s radio sparking on with the tube. Well done.
Gameplay: Spectacular – 9.5/10
Smooth animations, huge world design, and interactive and smart A.I. This game can be streamlined to do the main quest, or you can help the citizens of wasteland in their personal affairs. The single player game takes a lot of chances, but succeeds, in making the player make hard choices and customizing the game to their own path. Some find out too late that it is important to make hard choices to choose which attributes to build up. This aspect alone warrants multiple play times.
Some critics and players are commenting on the ending (no spoiler), but I must say that for the amount of customization a person can have in this game, it goes right along with the story.
Replay Value – High (for a single player only game) 9/10
Even without multiplayer, this game has replay value with the limitless ways you can play as – via good, bad, neutral, thief, etc. This did not feel like an RPG to me, and was well done to the point that I am on my second playthrough.
Overall – Near Perfect 9.5/10
I am not a fan of RPG’s, nor long drawn out games over 30+ hours, but I was swept away in this post apocalyptic wasteland. This holiday season is rough with the shear amount of great games, and this is definitely in the Top 5 for contention of game of the year.
This would normally be a game I would run from, but I rented it, and then bought it. It is so engrossing that others will want to watch you play and help you make those hard choices.
The game is not perfect, but close to. The story flows, as with the action, and it makes you feel as if you were there with your character trying to survive.
It has elements taken from genres such as RPG, puzzlers, action-adventures, but is not pigeonholed into this experience and to say it is an RPG is gives too little credit. This is an experience that should be played by any hardcore gamer.
What's great about it: Great game, you choose how you play it
What's not so great: Aimed at the hardcore gamer
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Great story and in depth game play
I would recommend this to a friend!

Please Note that I was able to play this game before the official release during a demo session.
Graphics - 9/10
For what the game is, you are not buying this game to play for the graphics – though EA and Harmonix was to put a lot stuff onto one screen, and it works well. The words and the activators are clear and bright.
Sound – 10/10
The track list for this game, along with the original recordings and downloadable content, is a must have. You will get lost in involvement when playing this game. This is one of the best soundtracks in a game to date. The best addition is the sound of the instruments when you mess up – they just cut out.
Gameplay – 9/10
Though taking on new instruments Rock Band has taken this game this game down a new road, going to a new town and just nailed it. The drums, along with the fender are awesome. What is really impressive, but under published is the singing. This is a fun, yet interesting addition, to this platform.
Replay Value - 10/10
When you see the achievement list, it will make you achievement “gatherers” play this game again and again to get the full 1000/1000. Plus with the addition of online multiplayer, content downloads, and competitive play – it will hard not to play this game over and over. This is worth your $169.99 for the bundle this holiday season.
Overall - 10/10
This game is going to change the way developers take the gamer in the future. As an avid gamer, and a twenty-something, this game just pulled me in. The soundtrack, gameplay, singing, and peripherals all gel perfectly.
The new wireless “Fender” guitar is heavier, durable, and a real close replica to an original Fender. Playing this, you feel as if you have a real Strat in your hands. Playing Guitar for the last seven years, this instrument feels natural, and it is easy to orientate yourself to it. I must say that this is a nice controller, and I did not want to put it down.
The drums are well built, sturdy, and I have to say – just plain fun! The color coded drum heads, and kick pedal, feel good while playing them. Playing cross-handed style naturally, they set up the game to accommodate real drum playing style. This is the closest simulator I have felt. I would agree with the developers in saying that playing the drums on expert level would make you a better “real” drummer on a novice/intermediate level.
Singing – well… That is just plain fun. I must comment that the pitch recognizing, along with the tracks, takes this game to the next level.
I highly RECOMMEND that you get the bundle not only to save money, but to experience this game in entirety with your friends.
What's great about it: Takes the music rhythem game to a whole new level
What's not so great: A bit expensive for everything

Graphics - 8/10 For what the game is, you are not buying this game to play for the graphics – though Activision was able to make the animations more vibrant, and a more noticeable experience.
Sound – 10/10 The track list for this game, along with the original recordings (including the reunited Pistols!) is a must have. You will get lost in involvement when playing this game. This is one of the best soundtracks in a game to date.
Gameplay – 9/10 Though under new “ownership”, Activision has taken this game this game down a similar road, but with a new car. With slight improvements in the display hud, the notifications of streaks, and the “star power” activators easier to get, this game is fun. Plain and simple.
Replay Value - 10/10 When you see the achievement list, it will make you achievement “gatherers” play this game again and again to get the full 1000/1000. Plus with the addition of online multiplayer, content downloads, and competitive play – it will hard not to play this game over and over. This is a worthy sequel.
Overall - 9/10 Able to play this game early, there are a few new tweaks to the actual gameplay, and it feels a bit easier to play (except some of the very final songs), but this game follows the old saying “if it ain’t broke – don’t fix it”. The song list, along with the new guitar, is stellar. With all the original, or master, tracks that are in this game, it is hard not to enjoy this game if you are a fan of rhythm or music games.
The new wireless “Gibson” guitar is heavier, more durable, and the closest thing to a real guitar peripheral that I have felt. I must say that this is a nice controller, and I did not want to put it down. I applaud Activision’s attention to detail. I highly recommend this bundle.
What's great about it: Amazing set list
What's not so great: this is better purchased with the guitar bundle
I would recommend this to a friend!
