Worlds greatest game system meets best game

I love playing Mario Kart for DS and always tilt the ds to drive the car. Now with this game for the wii my tilting ability can finally be put to good use.
What's great about it: Fun Racing game and finally am able to use motion instead of a joy stick or buttons
What's not so great: I have no complaints
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do I need to purchase Mario Kart Wii to use steering wheel?

I have the gamecube version already. Can I use the steering wheels with the gamecube version, or do I have to purchase the Wii version of the game to use the steering wheels?
Thanks!!
As far as i know the only way to play gamecude games on wii is with a gamecube controller.
