This is probably one of Scorsese's most underrated films. Audiences are basically stuck in the mind of Dicaprio's character until the end at which point they feel like they missed out on the truth the entire time and feel a little dazed and confused. It is only when you see the film a second time do you realize the subtle clues you missed due to Scorsese confining you to the mind of Dicaprio's character throughout the film. The two bonus features are nice to see and provide some shocking and interesting information on mental health providers in the 1950's. Recommended if you like cerebral, crime-noir films or just a fan of Scorsese.

Boring film, dated special effects

I purchased this film for the award it received for its special effects, so basically for the eye-candy. I was sorely disappointed. The special effects seemed dated and not really that spectacular. The film itself was extremely boring, nonsensical, and I was never able to relate to anything the characters were going through at any point during the film. This was a disappointing watching experience and I do not recommend it for any reason.

A Classic Comedy

This movie is hilarious throughout and provides an endless amount of quotes and memorable scenes. This two disc set also provides tons of bonus footage and features. It is highly recommend for any Will Ferrell fan.

Great thriller and quality picture.

First time seeing the entire film and not just bits and pieces. This thrilling film keeps you engaged and its conclusion is a nail-biter. Getting this on blu-ray is definitely worth it.

Must-see if you love classics

After seeing the theatrical poster in Monty's apartment in the film '25th Hour' with Edward Norton, I had always wanted to see CHL. I've seen it a couple of times by now and still enjoy it. It's basically about a dude going to jail for ripping off parking meters for fun while intoxicated, going to jail, escaping, going back to jail, escaping again and getting caught again, then presumably going to someplace worse or just back to jail again. If you like classics set in the south about a young man with nothing to lose, you should check it out. The blu-ray looks pretty good, but the HD version they show on TV as long as they don't crop it, which is what most cable stations have been doing, essentially destroying the film, is not bad either. I also did not explore any bonus features, so if you can catch the film on TV then do that and if you enjoy it then buy the blu-ray.

Quite an immersive experience

This is my first Hitchcock film to own on blu-ray. I haven't really seen a lot of his movies, just Psycho, The Birds, and maybe a few episodes of his TV series, but I've always been interested in exploring his work and this purchase does not disappoint. This was actually my first time seeing NBNW and it was everything that I expected, thrilling, humorous, and cerebral. The blu-ray transfer looks amazing on my 55", the perilous final scenes look grand, the colors are vivid throughout, and the audio seems fine as well. This is a great start to a Hitchcock blu-ray collection!

Exuberant crime escapade

Huge fan of Harmony, Gucci, and now the ATL twins. The movie depicts four teenage girls wanting to leave their small town to have some fun during spring break. They have a blast and we're there to enjoy every breath of it. The movie is jolting, visceral, and downright chicken soup for the soul. It's a great film high in replay value. The bonus features are cool to. However, the digital copy is ultraviolet only with no iTunes option which is lame.

Classic album, beautifully composed.

Danny Brown kills it on Old. The first half, beginning with 'Side A' is a response to his fans wondering what happened to the 'old' Danny Brown. It contains more straightforward 'street life' raps over groovy, dreamy, and eclectic beats. '25 Bucks' 'Torture' & 'Dope Fiend Rental Feat. ScHoolboy Q' I instantly groove to and make me want to learn the lyrics so I can sing along when I start this album over. The track 'Side B (Dope Song)' begins the inevitable party and the lunatic, substance fueled, hedonist Danny Brown is set loose. These songs have the electronic, heavy bass beats that hit hard fueling the party that Danny raps about. It's obvious he's having fun and you need to join him. 'Dip' 'Smoking & Drinking' the A$AP assisted 'Kush Koma' and closer 'Float On Feat Charli XCX' are favorites. Old shines in 2013 as a proper album in form and content from beginning to finish.
