The first half got your interest but then it went nowhere. By the end, you're wondering why you wasted time watching it. The high critical praise it received makes it even more disappointing.
What's great about it: Daniel Day Lewis is great
What's not so great: The second half gets slow, depressing, and totally unlikable. Also has one of the worst soundtracks ever.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
