I seem to be using this system a little differently than most. I made a deal with my wife: I would move the stereo to the basement, creating a lot more space in the living room -if- we got a HIGH QUALITY 2.1 system to replace it. I have a lot of cd's and concert dvd's and still wanted them to sound great. Quality sound reproduction was the main goal, price being second. A dvd/vhs player is hooked to the tv audio in. A 6 foot RCA jack to 1/8 inch (male) Y adapter runs from the tv's audio out, to the speaker system. I turned off the tv's built in speakers, so all sound comes from the Klipsch speakers. I leave the speaker volume at maximum and control the volume from all sources with the tv/cable remote. For cleaner music sound, plug a mobile player into the Klipsch's other input. I bypassed the power switch issue by powering the speakers from my Comcast box's switched AC plug. (Set that up in the cable box menu.) One remote controls everything!
What's great about it: Sound quality, size, price.
What's not so great: No power switch, but I worked around it.
