Great game

This game is great fun. It has many tracks and mini games which keep it from being a game you play for a while but get board of. The one problem is the game is EASY, but i am experienced in these types of games, so it may be harder for others.
What's great about it: very realistic with the wheel, easy to use
What's not so great: EASY!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will Wii's be available online before Christmas?

No, unless you are willing to trust sites like ebay, which i would not. The best bet is to give the person that you were going to give the wii to a picture of the wii and write, IOU

would you reccomend wii or xbox for 50+ guy

It depends on how big a gamer you are and what games you play. The x box has a wider selection of games, but they are more expensive, as are the games. I would look into both. Hope I helped!
