one of the best on live games ever wont dissapoint

I was pretty skeptical when picking up this game at the store because i am not the biggest fan of RPG games in general. however, this game cannont even be put under the words "in general" because there s nothing general about it... I know that a lot of people wanted online multiplayer and i myself also was a bit dissapointed but if they had mp then they would have to take out the coolest part of teh game which is V.A.T.S. one of the best games ive ever played...
What's great about it: campaign, free roaming, diffuculty
What's not so great: no online mp

Continents erupt in flames and hails of gunfire as war breaks out on an unprecedented scale. This is World War II, where a massive conflict rages on two fronts: Europe and the South Pacific. Answer your nation's call and travel to distant lands where you'll take part in devastating battles that gripped a generation and laid the foundation for the world as we know it today. Do you have the courage, the cunning and the commitment to fulfill your duties and see the war through to its harrowing end?Prepare for global conflict presented in all its terrible grit and immediacy. In Call of Duty: World at War, you assume the role of a U.S. Marine or a Russian soldier in the waning days of the Second World War. Travel to the far reaches of the conflict, from war-plagued Berlin to the dense jungles of the Pacific theater, as you confront enemies who refuse to contemplate surrender or retreat and who fight all the more desperately ~ and more dangerously ~ knowing the end is near. Employ the weapons at your disposal, including a flamethrower and other new infantry and vehicle-based weapons, and fight to complete your mission as battles explode around you with all the terrible chaos of real war.

okay I was either going to buy this or gears of war 2... I chose this because best buy had it on sale for only $35. I can't say that I made a mistake because I didn't. this game is amazingly fun and has great graphics. the gore system is extremely realistic. Online play is great. The only way that it isn't good is that COD 4 came out first... The weapons on COD 4 were much better even though these weapons are great they just don't compare to 4's. Nzi zombies is an awesome feature that I have gotten hours and hours of gameplay from and have only made it to round 31. The flamethrower is great in the (amazing) campaign mode but when aquired online at level 65 it's just completely unbalanced and unfair to anyone who doesn't have it. One last note is that the responsiveness is good except sometimes you shoot someone and they should die but they don't. thats about all thats wrong with this game because the rest is awesome.
What's great about it: flamethrower, zombies, online, campaign
What's not so great: have to beat campaign for zombies, weapons
I would recommend this to a friend!

online falls a little short

this game has a great story and a very fun campaign. however it is severely lacking in online play... one reason I bought it was because of the much advertised 20 person multi-player. it doesn't really matter that 20 people can play because the graphics are cut down to fit the large amount of people but it still lags. This was a large disappointment. Anyways the gore system is amazingly realistic and it saved the game.
What's great about it: campaign, gore system, tank
What's not so great: online and limited weapons

hard drive

do i necessarly need a hard drive to play live unless i want to save things? if not, what do i have to have besides the ethernet cable and live membership
I don't believe you do need a HD but it won't save any ranks or experience gained and it would be basically pointless to play online

hope this helps

When I put a disc into my XBOX 360 it gives me the message reading and then says open tray. It does not tell me can't read just open tray.

It acts as if there is no disc in it at all. Any ideas before I take it back? There are no red rings. I do have the product replacement warranty.
this might happen because if disks have been in a while they start to (for lack of a better word) sweat. A disk could be brand new but if it is sweaty this could happen.. I hope this helps.
