World War 2: Tarantino Style
on December 7, 2009

I'm a huge Tarantino fan, so naturally when I saw the trailer for IB, I was interested. The time came around for it to be released, and I wasn't disappointed. This film is WW2 through the eyes of an extreme filmmaker. It is violent, very violent, but only in spurts, not throughout the whole film. That being said, it does move a little slower than his previous films, relying heavily on dialogue, but the script is great. The actors really pulled it off, whether it be a southern Brad Pitt, a German Diane Kruger, or Christoph Waltz, who in my opinion, should definitely receive a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nod for his role. He was a guy you loved to hate. This film isn't really true to history, you'll see what I mean, but it's Quentin's spin of the event. If you don't like Tarantino, you probably won't go for this movie, but I still say give it a shot. If you're into war stories, definitely check it out.
What's great about it: Another Tarantino Movie
What's not so great: 75% in Subtitles

A Great Continuation

I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter films. Notice I said films, not books. I have not read any of the books, but that doesn't take away from the movies at all. I know people say the books are better, but when you haven't read the books, I really don't care if I'm missing anything. This film looked so beautiful to me in theaters. It uses any and every color you can think of, and it's great to see how the series is getting darker and darker. One complaint I head is the Voldemort is very underplayed in this chapter, but I was fine with that. We still get to see the youthful Tom Riddle at different stages in his life, and we et glimpses and his slow turn to evil, which I thought was awesome. Yes, it's more of a filler movie, but it works perfectly, setting up everything for the last two epic films, and I can't wait. If you have a Blu-ray player, I highly recommend picking this up on BD, you will not be disappointed.
What's great about it: A great addition to the series

This Samsung 6 Series HT-H6500WM/ZA 1000W 5.1-channel home theater system's built-in Wi-Fi offers access to streaming media. To build a complete 3D home theater system, you'll also need a 3D TV, 3D glasses designed for the TV and a high-speed HDMI cable.

Good value set... not perfect
By Paul75007
I purchased this item after reading the multiple reviews on this site. I was also considering purchasing a separate receiver unit and using some speakers I already had, but was enticed by the prospect of wireless rear surround speakers. Overall, I am pleased, but this unit is missing some key functionality to make it perfect for my use. Points below:
PRO:
1. wireless speakers - mostly convenient, although I still have to run wires between them and the wireless receiver. They are not truly wireless.
2. bluetooth - this feature is awesome. Some other units that cost 2-3 times as much do not have this. I enjoy this daily.
3. sound - it's good sound. Not the end-all-be-all, but it'll work for now. Solid surround.
4. Blue ray included - good quality picture, painless execution, good home screen in my opinion.
5. includes Netflix and Amazon service support.
6. FM tuner included.
CON:
1. wireless speakers... realize, they will both need to be wired to a wireless control unit. So, to me that is not "wireless" but you don't have to run individual wires to each speaker from the unit. semi-convenient, but not perfect wireless execution.
2. No HDMI pass-through. So the unit has to both be ON and HDMI selected. So, if I wanted to watch football on my tv with ipad streaming bluetooth Pandora... nope. Or if I just want to watch tv without the ful stereo, the unit has to be on.
3. No optical in - so, no connecting my tv output to the unit.
4. Speaker connection use proprietary connections, so no running my own wires for future expansion.
5. 1 x HDMI in - so only the cable box gets run through the stereo unless I swap HDMI cables each time.
6. 1 x HDMI out - pretty standard, but would love an additional output for my 2-tv display.
Bottom line: Despite a long list of "cons," still a solid unit for the money spent. Samsung had to compromise on the feature set for the consumer, I get that. As a result, this unit does not have everything I was wanting. The "mostly wireless" rear speakers make this a good unit for me right now. But would I buy it again? Probably not.
I was considering a $250 Denon with a blue ray player separate. More power, bluetooth, multiple HDMI inputs, and can upgrade to better speakers as I go.

It says in the specs that there is one Optical Input, so what are you referencing when you say there isn't any Optical In?

release date

Do you know when "Where the Wild Things Are" will be released on DVD?
It was released in theaters in mid-October, and usually the span from theater to DVD is around 4-5 months, but I'm going to guess this will come out sometime in late January/February.
