great learning tool, and great recipes

this is basically an advanced cookbook. by advanced i do not mean difficult, it is advanced in the fact that it does have step by step instructions, and also shopping lists for recipes. the recipes range from various countries which keeps it interesting and you learn recipes from outside of our standard menues. my finace thouroughly enjoyed the features and instructions which will actually speak to you so you can keep your hands free. it is very user friendly and easy to use. if you like to cook and want to learn new recipes with a high tech cook book, this is the way to go. the recipes are great and the shopping list is handy when purchasing ingrediants or checking to make sure you have everything. you can also check ingrediants off as you pick them up so you dont get lost or miss something. very great item and it can also help kids learn to cook (with adult supervision of course unless your child is old enough to use knives, scissors, and ect without fear of hurting themselves).
What's great about it: its and electronic cook book
What's not so great: nothing i can think of

great game

i got this game for ps3 and i have played the 360 version as well. at first i thought it was horrible. i had the ps3 on my standard old tube tv and i couldnt read the words in the quest log. they were blurry. a friend of mine had the same issue on the 360. i got a new hd widescreen tv and still had the issues. it was resolved when i used an hdmi cable instead of the standard audio visual cables. since then the game has greatly improved though i find it bad to have to have an HDMI cable to read words in a game. talk about pushing the more expensince technology. i am glad that i purchased it though, it has improved all the graphics of all my games.
sacred 2, if you never played the 1st sacred, is comparable to diablo 2, champions of norrath, or the baldurs gate series. it is a great rpg game set ina detailed world. something both xbox and playstation need for the next gen consoles. the easiest way to desribe it is a hack and slash rpg. there are alot of items and weopons in the game, and different characters to choose from, though i miss the characters from the origional sacred. the game also supports co-op play on one system and 4 co-op play on line over the internet. i would recommend buying the game if you like rpg games or are a fan of any game i related it to. if you have any graphical problems it isnt the game (sorta) or your system, it just needs to be used with an hd tv and an hdmi cable. really fun, over 22 miles of world to explore, excluding caves and dungeons. there is A TON of things to keep you busy. BUY IT.
What's great about it: its a great multil player rpg game
What's not so great: nothing as long as you have an HDMI cable

its monopoly, if you like monopoly by all means buy it, but monopoly gets boring fast, and by all means, lower the price...it is monopoly, this should be a $10 game. no board game is worth $30 in my opinion. they have some good modes of play and it is monopoly, but at the same time..its monopoly. i loved monopoly but could never get anyone to play with me growing up, now i can play the console version and realise why i could never get any one to play with me. the game gets tiresome after a few games and i am now in a "i dont want to see monopoly" mood, maybe i will play it again in a few years. i can recommend the game for family game night, or a monopoly fanatic..but i do not recomend the game just to buy as a game, but most people know that becuase who really breaks out the monopoly bored out at home when they are alone. but in my opinion it isnt worth the $30 price tag for any reason just becuase it is a board game, there isnt enough in a board game to warrant a price higher than $10 unless the peices are made of gold or something. all in all it is a good monopoly port but as long as the monopoly games have been out they need to lower the price to something more reasonable.

great game, though morrowind was better
on May 22, 2009

for one this game is a great addition to any rpg players collection. i will admit however that i was dissappointed with the short length of the game and the "empty" space in the landscape. it seems its predecessor morrowind had alot more in the world, every corner had something in it to collect, explore, or fight. oblivion is a little short on that side, though it still has the same great gameplay with increased graphics. the main story quest is short, however there are side quests to keep you busy and plenty of guilds to join. they also have an arena to fight in to earn money, great place to start the game. there are also expansions that add items and there are quests for the different dieties you can do, one of the best though not nessecary is the quest that grants you a skeleton key (a lock pick that doesnt break essentially). other than that the game really missed out on some of the more amazing features and items in the previous elder scrolls game and this game seems shorter in scope than morrowind. i also found out today that this game is also on ps2 which i did not know. i knew it was on ps3. the game does bring back its customization, and some of the expansions are neat, and the shivering iles will keep you busy for a few hours and the new armor is kind of neat but nothing to get excited about. hopefully we will see more to find and explore in the next elder scrolls game and the landscape isnt so barren with nothing to do. all in all it is worth a buy for the price, it will entertain and awe, but seems to have missed the mark from being what morrowind was.
What's great about it: it is another great RPG game from Bethesda
What's not so great: short and not alot of detail like in morrowind

good game, better than GTA in my opinion

have always gotten more enjoyment out of saints row than grand theft auto due to the amount of things you can do outside of missions, also the game has a sence of humor and can be very funny. the graphics are good and there are plenty of vehicles as well as customization options for cars, gangs, even places you buy (safehouse, cribs). it is a neat aspect and they added and improved upon the last saints row game for xbox. the game is definatly worth checking out though if you are a parent the game does have cursing, nudity, obscene gestures, as well as violence of course so be weary of it if you are buying it for your child.
i am dissapointed that the company has not put an update for trophy support, therefore this is a game that i have since traded in after beating for something else. i was hopeing they would put trophies in to warrant another play through, and possibly make me play the game in ways i wouldnt have otherwise thought of.
if you are new to the saints row it is a GTA clone, but done better in my opinion. if you like grand theft auto you will probably like this game. definatly check it out. it is worth buying due to rental time wouldnt give you enough time to fully explore the game, unless you have a subscription based rental service to keep it as long as you want.
What's great about it: great game with plenty to do
What's not so great: nothing i can think of

this game is pretty fun, along the lines of mercenaries 2 in the way it handles except for you have 3 other computer AI characters following you around. the game is fun to play all around and has some neat weopons and vehicles. also the ability to destroy everything around you including trees, walls, vehicles makes it very easy to get tasks done in an alternate fashion. the game is very easy to pick up and learn if you have played similar games. it is worth buying due to the destructable environments and alternate ways to complete goals. very interesting story as well, it has already been covered in other reveiws so i will skip that. also the game carries trophy support which is always a nice bonus. very fun game, check it out and also check out mercenaries 2 for PS3, i do not recommend the xbox 360 version of the game though (mercs 2), the one on ps3 is different in a better way ( i was shocked myself to find a difference)
What's great about it: gamplay, destructive environments
What's not so great: nothing i can think of

GREAT GAME

bethesda is one of those companies that since Morrowind, makes me think of games with a higher set of standards than most game companies. they put alot of detail into their worlds (morrowind, oblivion, fallout 3) and make games that actually make you feel part of it. the graphics are amazing and the detail is awe inspiring. very few times does a game company take pride in their creations like this company. i will admit i was as impressed with oblivion as i was with morrowind but it was still a great game to say the least, and fallout 3 follows in the tradition of what to expect.
fallout 3 is one of few RPG games on the new consoles unfortunatly.
i do have a few gripes about the PS3 version not getting the expansions and have yet to find a reason why, and there could be more weopons in the game (which the expansions added but not on ps3). those are the only issues i have with the ps3 version, but hopefully if they do not come out for download they will make a game of the year edition like oblivion and morrowind.
all and all this game is very good, and their are plently of choises to make and you can go anywhere you want. the game gives you the freedom to make your character, assign your skills, and other customization options. all in all it is a great game to add to your collection, if you havent played it i would recommend buying this game, however as a warning, the game does feature gore and limbs and heads do come off when you shoot them so if you are reading this as a parent, you may want to keep that in mind, also there are some curse words in the game as well, the f word to be precise.
What's great about it: it is a breathtaking acheivment in a living moving world
What's not so great: ps3 doesnt have the expansions

Another GTA game
on May 21, 2009
Posted by: william09
from joplin, mo
this is yet another GTA game comparable to past GTA games. the graphics are by far the best of the series and they did take a more realistic approach on driving, shooting than previous games. the game in my opinion was not worth the origional $60 price tag due to lack of diversions out side of the main mission unlike saints row.
the game does support trophies which does add some replay value but there seems to be a few things lacking compared to the previous san andreas such as vehicle customization, working out to get bigger and stronger, the need to eat but not over eat. some of the features that made the last game stand out are missing which kind of takes away from the fun of it (working out was not fun, but getting bigger and dual wielding sawed off shot guns and making your car look different were neat aspects)
they have dating in the game which is more of a pain than anything, dealing with all the personal relationships in the game to keep everyone happy. i personally found it annoying to have to stop game progress to take everyone out on a "date" so they continue to like you and give you their help/bonuses in the game. all in all they went forward in the series while taking a few steps back, maybe the next GTA game will hit the nail on the head (or score a bullseye for those who play darts in the game). they added dart, pool, and bowling as a diversion, the games are not great but it is something to do outside of the missions and they have trophies associated with them as well. all in all a good game for the $40 right now
What's great about it: its GTA
What's not so great: it needs to copy a little from saints row

GREAT GAME
on May 21, 2009

i am not a big fan of first person shooter games. i have played halo 1 and 2 and thought they were kinda dumb. also wasnt to into resistance 2 either. something was lacking from both series for a NON FPS fanatic. i bought this game a week ago, and then bought call of duty 4 since everyone said it was better as well and to be hoenst both of them are fun to play.
the graphics are amazing on both games and the weopons are fun and plenty. the online mode features an "experiance" type system use dto "level up" and unlock new weapons and "abilities/ perks". that makes the game excellent and keeps you busy.
the downside for a new player is when you first start out online, you dont have the good weopons becuase you have not "leveled up" and unlocked them for use..so it is a little frustrating at times to be unloading on someone with a gun and get shot once and die when you just pumped 2 shot gun shells into them or 20 machine gun rounds. it is still fun and expected to have a little trouble starting out but like in real life it isnt really about skill but about who has the bigger guns in the end but it is still possible to level and get kills, just harder. it is still fun to play and makes the game a little more chanllenging and worth playing to level up and get access to better weopons.
i am not a big fan of FPS games but this game and COD 4 is an exception. i would advise anyone who can play a FPS game and understand the controls to play the game at least once. in my opinion both were worth buying, i havent played them long enough to say 4 is better than 5 like some people say, to me they are about the same except one is modern and the other takes place during WW2. they are both great games and worth picking up.
What's great about it: everything, experiance system, multiplayer, even single player
What's not so great: not a thing.

How do you set up windows media to your xbox 360 with windows xp software?

I am using an xbox 360 elite limited editon (resident evil 5 one), and i wanted to put media center on it.

How to I set it up with a wireless network?
To set up Windows Media Center:
If you use Windows XP, first go to www.xbox.com/pcsetup and click Setup to download the latest Windows Media Center software update to your PC running Windows Media Center.

Note
Windows Vista Home Premium Edition and Windows Vista Ultimate Edition come pre-installed with Windows Media Center.
Connect your Xbox 360 console to your PC using one of the connection types described in "Connect to Xbox LIVE."
On your Xbox 360 console, go to My Xbox and open Windows Media Center . Follow the on-screen instructions to finish Windows Media Center setup.

Along with standard DVD remote control functions, the Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote features a Windows Media Center button that lets you access a connected PC running Windows Media Center.

Xbox 360 can connect to an 802.11g or an 802.11a router with an optional wireless adapter such as the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter. Optimal performance is possible only when your Xbox 360 console connects to your network using the 802.11a standard. Other wireless devices, such as portable computers or desktop computers, connect with 802.11g.

Note
If you use wireless networking equipment that is not "Designed for Media Center Edition" (DfMCE) logo certified, you may experience poor wireless performance when you connect to PC running Windows XP and Windows Media Center.

To guarantee compatibility with current gear and to provide additional uninterrupted bandwidth for Xbox 360, replace an older 802.11g-only router with a newer, dual-band 802.11g and 802.11a router that is DfMCE certified.

Media Center Remote Control
The Xbox 360 console can be configured for use with your Media Center Remote Control. With this you can use familiar remote features to control the Windows Media Center features that are available with Xbox 360.

To use a Media Center remote control together with the Xbox 360:
Go to the My Xbox and select System Settings.
Select Console Settings.
Scroll down and select Remote Control.
Select Both Remotes.
Press Back (B) a few times to return to the Xbox Dashboard.

If the Xbox 360 console is turned off, press Start to turn it on and to start Media Center. When the system is on, you can press Start from any area of the Xbox Dashboard to jump straight to Media Center.

Note
The Media Center remote control cannot adjust the volume level for Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 Universal Remote is the best way to access the features of Media Center on the Xbox 360 system. You can control your Xbox 360 experience with an ergonomic design that includes backlit buttons, TV controls, and integrated Media Center controls.

2.0 usb flash drive. will it work on the ps3
most flash drives will work on ps3, some however you will have to format into either a ntfs or fat 32 drive (cant remember which) you can do this on your computer by plugging the device in, and going to the drive itself to view folders and click formatt ( on win xp it is on the left side bar as an option) it will however delete anything on the card. to get the ps3 to read items on it ,as an example a movie, you would go to movies on the media bar in ps3, highlight (do not push x to select the thumbdrive) the thumbdrive under movies and press triangle and select veiw all. other wise the ps3 will act like there is nothing on the drive.

i have this sprint USB thing and i dont know how to set it up to my PS3

i have it working on my laptop perfectly...just plug it in and go. but when i plug it in the ps3 it wont even show up.
the ps3 doesnt pick up some items in the usb ports (it wont detect a digital camera that i have from kodak) you may need to re-ask the question and state what the item is, what does it do. is it a phone (majic jack, vonage type device, wireless internet device (ps3 is wireless out of the box) is it a memory device of some kind) without know what the device is and does it is rather difficult to find a solution.

Is Sony going to have a price cut for ps3 like the rumors are saying

to be honest rumors of this nature have been going on for a while, i was told of a price cut in april that never happened. it is unclear at this time unless sony announces it themselves. i do know that sony takes a hit on every system they sale right now, meaning it costs more to make them than what they sale them for becuase of their own chipset they had made for the system. i woudlnt count on a price cut anytime soon, and if it happens with-in 30 days of your ps3 purchase i know most stores will honor the new price and will provide a refund. i woudlnt count on a price cut anytime soon unless sony becomes desperate to sell, especially since a descent blue ray player alone is running $300.00 by itself. i woudlnt count on a price cut due to that alone, if you are debating on buying one, i will tell you that overall it is worth the $400 price tag considering you dont have to buy accessories like you do with xbox 360 (wireless adapter is 99 dollars alone on 360 and ps3 is wireless right out of the box, and it comes with a rechargable controller which is another $20 on xbox and the online is free and xbox 360 is $60 a year plus you cant browse the internet like with ps3, considering all that ps3 is cheaper than xbox 360 in the long run already)

I am looking to buy an xbox for the first time and the elite seems like a pretty good deal. Is it worth $400 plus a year of live 2 games + controller

to be honest when you consider you have to buy the system, xbox live, a play and charge kit (unless you like batteries) a $99 wireless adapter you are actually paying more than you would for a more reliable ps3 which is ready to go out of the box. the only thing i purchased with my ps3 was a headset (any blue tooth headset that utilizes bluetooth 2.0 or later will work) and a controller for my fiance (and a seperate usb cable to charge it or you can get a charges that charges multiple controllers at the same time) you do get a chance to win a free game on xbox 360 called RED RING OF DEATH as well. the system reliability for xbox 360 is below standard. i myself have had a total of 4 360's, 3 of which have been since march of 2009. i woudl advise against xbox but that is just my opinion. do keep in mind im not a playstation fan boy, i just want a system that works and i got it and more with PS3
