I have been a Star Trek fan since the beginning and enjoyed most of the big screen films with the original cast. I was hesitantly looking forward to this film mainly because I hoped they could create a great movie for current audiences while staying true to the original show.
I thoroughly enjoy the storyline and feel they did a great job on this film. I love it and watch it often. I appreciate how they have taken us back to see how the crew comes together and especially how Kirk and Spock grow up and come together, very refreshing. How "Bones" got his nickname, the Kobiashi Maru, amongst many others. While I love almost every match to the original characters I feel they missed the mark filling Kirk's character, Chris Pine does not embody Kirk's character and does not resemble Kirk. Zachary Quinto as Spock was brilliant as that character is tough to embody, Zachary does it quite well. The remaining characters are great and I hope to see them return with the one exception.
I highly recommend this movie-characters, visual effects, storyline-this one has it all!! Great entertainment and a must see!!!
What's great about it: Storyline and visual effects
What's not so great: Kirk's character
I would recommend this to a friend!
