SoundDock Portable

This is a top-notch AC/DC unit that looks good and of course, it sounds good.
An earlier reviewer mentioned that there are no controls on the unit. There are loudness (often incorrectly called “volume”) control buttons on the right side of the unit.
Another earlier reviewer mentioned that he wished that the remote was waterproof. If you do damage the remote, at least a new one can be purchased at the Bose company Web site for $9.99 plus shipping. Most of their remotes are in fact priced at $9.99. The battery on the other hand does not come inexpensively – it's more than my car’s 60 month battery cost.
Reading the first ten pages (English) of the owner’s manual sheds some interesting information about the unit, including the unit's indicator light and the remote control. You might want to know how to get the unit to work if, after 14 or more days of no use, the battery goes into battery power protection mode, for instance. You might want to know what the various colors of trhe unit's indicator light means, and what a blinking light means. Yes, the owner's manual is online at the Bose compoany Web site.
This unit has some anti-vibration/shock features and the bass may even be better sounding than the non-portable unit because of the recessed handle area.
The unit does not have a video-out jack or an HDMI out jack.
The Bose Wave technology was used in the engineering of this excellent unit. Tip: To save money, look for package deals where the Sound Dock is packaged with an extra battery and carrying case. Bose products are rarely discounted; but might be when a model or color is discontinued, or when you find a money saving package deal. BestBUY is a fine store to shop.
What's great about it: We are really enjoying the Bose SoundDock Portable. This was a great purchase for sure.
What's not so great: I really do not like controls that have multiple uses for the same button; but I have got use to it and it is okay.
I would recommend this to a friend!
