The fact that you can create maps and modify existing ones really does make the game for me. Besides online play being one of the greatest made that i've seen (boosters aside), the campaign is wonderfully made. Im glad I bought this when it first came out, and I'm glad I still have it. Along with downloadable content the game just doesnt seem to lose the fun factor. Multiplayer is what shines in this bad-boy.
What's great about it: XBL, FORGE! and the campaign is fantastic.

This game is a fantastic game. I am a hardcore Halo fan but was still won over with no contest. I would suggest this game to anyone and everyone. Compared to WaW, this game has a 1up on everything, campaign, online play, guns, replayability, everything. I would take this game with no XBL over WaW with XBL. Although the multiplayer is really where this game shines brightest. 5/5 all the way.
What's great about it: XBL gameplay is superb. Campaign is far superior to CoD WaW

Im a hardcore CoD modern warfare fan and this game did not live up to CoD4's standards. They used many of the great things from modern warfare, such as weapon customization and prestige modes, but still failed to reach the same height. The online system was simply not very enjoyable. Guns lack the power to give you any satisfaction while you firing them as well as having almost no recoil. This results in a very unbalanced weapons system. Spawning was focused more on team spawns rather than safe spawns, I cannot count the times I spawned and died by crossfire. Overall, treyarch did not deliver as infinity ward did. The only aspect of the game that kept me going in the campaign was the prospect of Zombies which delivered and was ten times more fun than the campaign itself and most of the online play combined.
All in all, If you are looking for a good online first person shooter buy CoD Modern Warfare or Halo3 rather than this game.
What's great about it: best WW2 shooter out there, Zombies is hilarious with friends
What's not so great: online play outside of zombies not enjoyable, campaign scenes/events taken from way too many WW2 movies
