The sound quality is not crystal clear, but the sound is still very good. I can't compare to a regular land line as I haven't had one for 15 years. I got this so I would save my cell minutes as I'm on the phone a lot now that my job is working from home quite often.
I was interested in adding a splitter to the ooma box so I could have 3 lines going out - one to the phone, the second to a wall phone outlet, and the third to my DirecTv box. What I found is that there's not enough room for the 3 outlet switch. You can put a 2 outlet switch on the ooma box, but not 3.
Here's my setup. Modem > Router > Switch > Ooma Box > telephone/DirecTv box (Ooma only has 1 telephone out jacks, so need the dual jack accessory bought from hardware store).
There are other configurations that can be done, for example: Modem > Ooma Box > Router & telephone
One thing that I found puzzling is that there's really no information that I've found that shows how or when you pay the monthly taxes. I had to provide my credit card information at the time of activation of the Ooma, so maybe in the fine print that is mentioned, but looking at the FAQ's on Ooma's website I couldn't find anything. Kind of interesting that they wouldn't have that mentioned anywhere. I think my monthly charge is around $3.10 for the FCC fees/taxes, but that depends on where you live (or maybe your service address, not sure).
This architectural speaker features a paintable aluminum grille that provides rust protection when mounted in moisture-prone areas, such as bathrooms, kitchens and saunas. The 1" dome tweeter distributes smooth, clear sound over a wide area.

I bought these over the Polk's because these had a fuller sound. I didn't realize at the store that the color was different between the Polk's and Klipsch's. Probably the Polk's would have matched my ceiling a little better, but still happy with the sound. I use these in the living room just for some basic 2 channel music.

I started to think about replacing my Bose 501's with ANYTHING, so I went to Best Buy to check out their Def Techs and Martin Logans. I really wasn't planning to pay as much as the B&W's cost, but I liked their looks AND they had a great sound stage.
I can't really comment on how others sounded, because I really didn't even listen to them once I listed to these. I did, however, audition some Paradigm 11's (for about 1/2 the cost of these), and decided to buy these. I felt like the CM9's sound was a bit warmer, and that's what I like. The 11's seemed like they were just pure power.
After I bought the CM9's, I also bought the matching CMC2 and CM5's. Overall, I'm happy with my decision and hope these will last a very long time.
One thing to consider if you have young children is that the grill is very easy to take off. The day after buying my new CM9's, my 2 y/o son woke up before me and decided to do a little "exploring". He managed to destroy the tweeter domes in both speakers. I was able to order new domes from B&W and install them myself. It was a pretty easy process even though I would not consider myself to be a handyman. The domes are metal, so some old tricks of using a vacuum didn't work at all. B&W sells some dome protectors (which were on my speakers at the time they were damaged), but those are magnetic too and my son just took those right off. I've since been told from B&W that they can be glued on without damaging the speaker.
What's great about it: Sexy, great sound
What's not so great: Tweeter domes easily damaged, expensive

I decided to upgrade my equipment because during movies and tv shows there were several times that the dialog seemed to be very muddled. I previously had Paradigm CC-190.
I admit that my setup is not optimum, as my center channel sits in a semi-enclosed space, and maybe that's the reason for the muddled sound, however I would not say that the CMC2 was really any improvement over the CC-190. There are still many times where the dialog is not clear.
If you plan to have your CMC2 on the top of an open stand, then maybe everything will be perfect for you. I also spoke with some guys at a high end audio/video shop (who didn't sell B&W's), and they told me that there are several shows/movies that just have bad soundtracks and no matter what speaker I use, the dialog will be poor.
With all of that being said, I kept the CMC2 because it matches my CM9's, which I really like, and I bought the CM5's for the rears.
I use a Yamaha RX-A3000 (which has since been replaced by the RX-A3010) to power the speakers. Plenty enough power in my 10x18x15 open room.
Because I didn't notice a large improvement with these, I lowered the "Value for Price" to a 3. My Paradigm was MUCH MUCH less than these, and they sounded the same.
One thing the CMC2 has going for it is it's sexy looks. The glossy black looks great, and the speaker looks great with it's grill off.
