Good bargain

Great picture. Granted, it's only 60 Hz, so a lot of fast motion isn't crystal clear, but it's not very noticeable. Sound isn't great, but it's good for a TV. I have a surround sound system so that isn't really an issue. Good amounts of inputs and outputs; more than I need actually. I have my xbox 360, blu-ray home theater combo, wii, and computer (which is really cool) all hooked up to the TV, with more slots to spare. Very satisfied.
What's great about it: Good picture, good amount of inputs and ouputs
What's not so great: sound. but hey, it's a tv
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can I connect external speakers.

We do not want Home theatre system, just want to add some type of external speakers that point forward. (Speakers on this unit are underneath the TV.)
If external speakers are an option, how would they be connected?
There are two audio outputs on the TV: the analog (which are red and white and lower quality) and optical (higher quality). Simply connect the TV to the speaker system from those outputs. Make sure the speakers have the inputs before you buy the desired cable, though.

My hometheater system works great with a DVD or radio but how do I use it just watching TV?

look on the back of the home theater system for an input of either analog audio (the red and white inputs) and the back of your TV for the same thing, but output. Connect those outputs and inputs, and you'll probably have to change the setting on the home theater system for auxiliary or something along those lines. You could also do the same with Optical audio wires if you have those inputs and outputs, but analog would probably suffice.
