DVD disks work fine when recorded at maximum speed

These DVD disks record just fine at the maximum speed and read reliably in other equipment. I don't like the case, as the top screws into the bottom and may come undone. The last thing you need is the case coming apart when you pick it up and having the disks fly all over the floor. I took the disks out and put them into a better case.

What's great about it: They burn fine, readable in other devices.
What's not so great: Not the best container.

This 2 TB drive was reasonably priced and installed quickly and easily. It comes with Acronis True Image software to create an exact clone of your current disk, but with a larger partition, of course. Took around one hour, and my Windows system works flawlessly. Screws were included. The Acronis software needed to be downloaded, which is okay and guarantees that the latest version is used. Upon first booting with the new drive, Windows 7 automatically downloaded the necessary drivers and installed the software interface. It's nice to have more than an extra terabyte in my system now. I've always liked Western Digital drives.

need compatible DVD-RW 2X discs, tried 4X in DVR and did not work
Where can we find older 2X DVD's for this Emerson DVD recorder. It appears that the newer discs that are labeled 4X or up to 16X will not record.
You may want to consider investing in a newer recorder. They are made much better now.
