Utilizing dual 8" copper-spun IMG woofers and a 1" aluminum diaphragm-compression LTS tweeter, this Klipsch Reference R-28F floorstanding speaker creates a crystal-clear cross-spectrum soundscape.

Klipsch new reference speaker
By KingGodzilla from Los Angeles, CA
I auditioned the R-28F when I dropped by BB last week. I can confirm the point of the other reviewer that the new R-28F sounds smoother and pleasant to my ears than the RF-82 II, in my opinion.
Despite both speakers use the same 1” compression driver; Klipsch has raised the crossover frequency of the R-28F from 1400hz of the RF-82 II to 1800hz. As a result, more of the mid frequency of the R-28F is now handled by the dual 8” woofers making it sound more balanced and smooth than the RF-82 II. I am glad that Klipsch has taken a step in the right direction. When I compared the R-28F with the Pioneer SP-SF52 right next to it, I found the Pioneer sound very good but boxy and constrained. It is a common problem with most box speakers and that is why open baffle and planar speakers sound so open and real. I really hope that Klipsch will come up with a new dual diaphragm compression driver like the JBL D2 in its upper tier speakers in the future.
Considering the price and sq of the R-28F, I highly recommend it to anyone who cares about music and value.

R-28F vs RF-82 II
December 17, 2014
Hi, I get this on black friday for same reasons: 1/2 regular price ($225) and Klipsh reputation, however I read a lot of great/wonderfull reviews on RF-82II the same like this but should be a lot superior, I connect this R-28F at home, but some reason the mid frecuency are not very clear, not sure if is the Reciever, (I have a Pionner Elite 7.1)
I tried all setups and still not conform. I wonder why you say that R-28F will be better than RF-82II beside the high frecuency cross over. thanks...
