I purchased Batman: Arkham Asylum expecting a great game, and came out thrilled that it was oh-so more. The gadgets, fight combos, and super villains- it's all here. Mark Hamills' voice acting as The Joker is just as, if not more well done than in the cartoon. The game is spent trying to stay one step ahead of Batmans arch nemesis as he attemps to take over Arkham and they really did a great job progressing the downfall of any hope coming Batmans way- you are truly the last hope. Problems with the game include some weak boss battles and a short campaign. I played on Normal and had no problems beating the game in under 8 hours. There are, however Riddler puzzles and fight challenges to beat to try and keep the player going, but for me that just wasn't enough after beating the story.
Overall Batman is hands down the best Action game this year and the best comic book game that I know of. Definitely worth a play-through. And gliding as Batman could possibly be the coolest thing ever.
What's great about it: Addictive gameplay, great story, overall atmosphere of the island.
What's not so great: Short story, punching thugs can get repetitive.
