well.. back when I was deciding to purchase my XBOX 360 system I looked into what I would want specifically through the different pages they had on Xbox.com They still have the "Which Console Is For You Chart" but apparently Microsoft no longer sells the Pro System, 20GB Hard Drive, and 60GB Hard Drive. All they have now are the Arcade System which comes along with a 256MB Hard Drive and the Elite System which comes with a 120GB Hard Drive. There are a few other differences that you can look at on the chart but the main difference is the Hard Drive capacity. If you're simply looking to buy a basic 360 that has decent Hard Drive space I'd go with the Arcade system. When deciding for myself I had the issue of not knowing how much exactly I would want to save onto my 360, including downloads, demos, music, and movies and that was the main decision maker when purchasing my Elite. I like how I'm never in need to delete anything really, but still keep my Hard Drive nice and tidy. On the other hand it isn't completely necessary if you do not want to put all sorts of content on your Hard Drive and simply want it for game saves. I looked up how much the 256 Hard Drive would hold and came up with a pretty specific forum response "It is recommended that you get a hard drive roughly the games can take up 500 kb to 25 mb, and even though the hard drive can save up to 10-15 games, it still has to save configurations of your Xbox 360 so you do not have to keep setting it up every time you start up your 360. After everything is set up, you may only have about 50 mb left." This was in response to someone asking if he needed to purchase a bigger Hard Drive for his Arcade system for game saves and SOME music. Even so, if you do go with the Arcade, you can always purchase the 120GB Hard Drive ($149.99) and a 512MB Hard Drive ($29.99) separately. In all honesty with the Elite's pricing ($299.99) and the Arcade's pricing ($199.99) it's in a way worth the Hard Drive and sparing of a bunch of trouble in the long run to simply go with the Elite. Then again that is ONLY if you would like to spend that much. Luckily it's cheaper than when I bought my 360. In all with the internet Adapter I needed to buy in order to play online, 12 month subscription card, and one game it came up to over $700 dollars. But that was back when there were the only the Elite and Pro systems, the Arcade had only been mentioned for future console options. By the way, through Best Buy you can also purchase a refurbished 360 Pro system, not that I'd recommend that, just thought you may be interested in it. You can also find different prices for the consoles and accessories at other electronic stores just like you would any other electronic device. Anywho..it's best to do some research on Xbox.com. They have different articles that let you know how much a specific Hard Drive's capacity will be and other information. You can also look up different responses to specific questions you may have through any search engine. Through experience I come to find that some of the best responses come from answers.yahoo.com. Hopefully I helped you out some and if you need anything else just aim me. my sn is yeyitskristin Good luck finding the 360 system you want!
