I think the Garmin is great. This is my first gps(besides my cell phone) Mine has the traffic and weather updates, which is a must have by the way. It can route you around traffic jams and accidents before you get to them. I tried it side by side with a magellan. It was a little better, the only thing I liked about the magellan is it would alert you 2 miles before your turn, and again one mile before your turn. The magellan also is easier to type in the town name, because it is a little better a predicting what you are gonna type. The garmin usually alerts you 1 mile before your turn. All in all, the garmin a good device to have, I would by it again. It can be a pain typing in a town name. Happy Hunting
What's great about it: Pretty acurate on directions(MOST of the time)
What's not so great: A little difficult setting it up and changing settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

How can I update my GPS maps

My GPS is3 years old and I need to update the maps
If you don't have a USB cable for your GPS, You will have to buy one that has a USB end, And an end that will fit your GPS. Then go to the manufacturers website, and you should be able to update it from there(That is how I did my Garmin)

Which software provides detailed city maps for a Garmin Colorado 400i?

I have a Garmin Colorado 400i. It comes with a base map for the city and such. It shows me currently main highways and a few other roads. I want to know what software will be compatible and will show even the smallest street in the smallest town in North America. Thank you in advance.
Actually, It probably has all the roads and streets on there. You probably just have to zoom in closer on your GPS. I have a garmin 255W, and it won't show the small roads either unless I zoom in. Hope that helps.
