Newcomer Blomkamp makes his epic debut.

District 9 takes a different approach on segregation. Instead of focusing on a group of people, aliens are what is in the center of the cross-hairs. But this isn't just a simple story about one man joining the other side and realizing the error of his ways, it's about a cowardly bigot who gets everything thrown back at him. It's about survival and his only hope are the "prawns" that he's been stepping over for so long. The movie succeeds in showing a gripping story about desperation and survival. District 9 also has one of the best action sequences I've seen in a long time. Big insect robot suit anyone?
What's great about it: intense, great story, great performance by unknown cast
What's not so great: it ended too soon
I would recommend this to a friend!

Heading in a good direction.

Terminator Salvation finally lets viewers see the actual war against the machines. Great action sequences and special effects. Acting is solid also. However, there are a lot of unanswered questions which hints at a possible sequel. Overall, the new direction which now takes place during the war is a great one to take.
What's great about it: Set during the war against the machines.
What's not so great: Unanswered questions.
I would recommend this to a friend!
