I had read many reviews online about this camera. It was basically between the 7D and 5DMKII. In the end, I'm glad I went with the 7D. Saved me some money and it still does all I want it to. The video quality looks real nice. I upgraded from the 30D and it is a big difference. The images are very bright. The LCD is amazing. I like that I'm able to set my 430EXII flash as a slave flash. With my 30D, I preferred to shoot at ISO 100, and with the 7D, I am able to get the same results at ISO 400.
What's great about it: 100% viewfinder, 24FPS Video, 8FPS burst, 430EXII can be used as a slave.
What's not so great: Choosing focus points is kind of confusing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

need a new camera that holds 2 single rechargeable batteries. which camera?

Most likely you'll need to buy a battery grip for a DSLR camera to have two batteries in the unit.
