It's the twenty-first century: multitasking is a way of life. Cell phones, laptops and tablets and their ever-expanding networks, apps and programs make it so we can almost always be doing at least two things at once. You send an e-mail while you're out to lunch. You call your clients while you're finishing up that presentation. You send your brother a birthday e-card while you're walking to your next appointment. Technology allows us to stay connected to the people and things we care about. It also creates a world where work and play are constantly overlapping ~ where creativity, productivity and recreation often go hand-in-hand. With that in mind, Windows 8.1 has been designed to bring you one operating system that can handle all of life's demands ~ no matter what it throws at you. Whether you're at work, at play or just looking for some inspiration, Windows 8.1 is there to deliver. Windows 8.1 personalizes your experience so can work and play in a way that allows you to access what truly matters to you. Beginning at your Start screen, you see a new layout that features your favorite news, friends, social networks and apps. You can customize colors, backgrounds and tile sizes to make your device unique to you. You can even access your familiar Windows desktop with just one click, so all the features you love are never far away. All your old apps, files and settings easily transfer and run on Windows 8.1. Your productivity will reach new heights thanks to Windows 8.1's ability to work harmoniously with your devices, whether they are touch screen or mouse-and-keyboard. You can stay connected to important photos and files by accessing them on your phone, tablet or PC with SkyDrive. Just sign in to your Microsoft account and your desktop will appear with all your personal preferences and settings so you can keep working wherever you are. In addition to the enhanced built-in apps and features, you can also discover more of your favorite apps with access to the Windows Store, which puts Netflix, ESPN, Skype, Halo: Spartan Assault, and other features conveniently at your fingertips. The new Windows 8.1 also makes searching, browsing and sharing faster and safer than ever. Use your device's power more efficiently for quick start-ups and app-switching as you stay up to date with security features, including Windows Defender, Windows Firewall and Windows Update. Life won't wait, so why should you? Access what is important to you ~ your way ~ so you get the best of work and play with Windows 8.1.

Great Software

This is a full Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS, not the OEM discs other retailers are selling for less....the extra cost here at BB is worth it. It also comes with 32 & 64 bit installation discs. Since I'm upgrading from a Windows 7 OS on my laptop, I needed the full Windows 8.1 OS, not the Windows 8.1 upgrade. The Windows 8.1 upgrade OS will only work if you're upgrading from Windows 8. Also the OEM Windows 8.1 OS are a manufacturer's disc and I've read many complaints with the OEM discs having installation issues.
.The OS installed very fast, about 20 minutes. It ran without a hitch. I'm not a fan of Windows 8, but since Windows 7 is nearing the end of it's usable life I decided to upgrade. It's faster than Windows 7, takes up less hard drive space, and uses less CPU and Ram resources. I installed "Classic Shell" that gives us back the Windows 7 start button and a usable all programs list. It gives back the Windows 7 desktop look and hides the Windows 8 tiles....that you can switch back and forth at will. For all practical purposes it looks and feels like Windows 7 with "Classic Shell" installed. Full OS backups finish now in 1/2 the time it did with Windows 7. Since I no longer have a recovery program nor a recovery partition, it's critical one makes regular full OS backups to an external drive. I make 2 backups, one with Windows and also 3rd party backup programs. You will also have this OS disc for re-installation if needed but as we all know, that's a headache to go through. During the installation process, this OS installation will format your Hard drive, erase all data, including any recovery partition. None of the junk programs and crapware that comes with new Pc's is included with this OS disc. It's faster, more stable, boots faster, and a much better running operating system than it would be on a new PC with all the crapware a new Pc comes with. For all tense and purpose this OS runs great and mine looks like Windows 7.

I'm partial to Panasonic telephones for several reasons. #1, it uses AAA rechargeable batteries. #2, Panasonic phones are the only ones who have call block. I love call block. If you get repeated unwanted calls, you can block them. It has Dect 6 Plus that makes calls mostly interference free. This phone has very good range and I can go anywhere in decent distance inside and outside my home. It has all the features I need or will use and got it on sale here at BB. This is a very good phone with decent sound quality.

Good Case

I bought this case for a Canon SX50 point and shoot bridge camera. It is a snug fit, but loosens up some over time. It seems to be good quality and gives good protection for my camera. There's a small pouch for SD cards and cleaning cloth but not much else. Not big enough for DSLR's, acc, and lens, but perfect for a point and shoot like mine. Got mine on sale, a good bargain.

Disappointed

I bought this camera as an upgrade to my Canon SX 40 35X Zoom. I thought it would give me new bells and whisles and it does. But I mainly got it for the 65X Zoom range, I can do without the other upgrades. I'm sad to report that this camera didn't perform as well as my older camera. The pictures, especially at it's furthest zoom range, were not as sharp, kinda soft in comparison. I like good color saturation in my pics and this camera seems to favor neutral colors. That's not a negative for those who like that. I'm sure one can use the manual settings and compensate for these negatives, but I want to use it in auto settings only. I got this camera to compliment my Canon T3i DSLR and I do use the manual settings with it, when doing serious photographt. But I wanted this camera for those times when I'm just out somewhere, maybe travalling, and just want to take good pictures. I don't want a point and shoot that I have to fool with manual settings. The buttons are arraigned different from from my older model and I like the other postions better. The menu was a snap to understand, only a small learning curve from my older model. That's one thing about Canon I like, if you have any canon model the menu's are similar to navigate. It is a nice camera and those who are new to point and shoot super zooms, or it's their 1st camera....they probably will be happy with this camera. The problem here I think, is that zoom technology cannot expand zoom range this much, without also upgrading the lens and sensors. If manufactuers continue to expand the zoom range on these point and shoot cameras, they are going to have to upgrade the lens and sensors also. I suppose Canon was trying to keep the price down with this camera to be competitive with other manufactuer's cameras. I am a loyal Canon Customer and will remain so. I'm sure they will be back on top of their game on the next upgrade or next model. I'm going to return it for the Canon SX 50, 50X Zoom that I like better, at a cheaper price.

I got this remote control acc for my Canon T3i DSLR. I got it on sale and it works well. All I needed was to be able to take shots without physically pushing the camera shutter button and it accomplishes that. It's good for the times when you want absolute camera steadiness for picture sharpness and selfies. It won't do all the extra stuff that more expensive remotes are capable of, but for what it's designed for it works great.

Good carry around lens
on January 7, 2015

I bought this lens to replace carrying my kit and zoom lens when not needed while travalling. It takes the place of my 18-55mm kit lens and 75-300mm zoom lens. It covers those same range distances but is not as good in low light, nor are the pics as sharp at the furthest zoom range. But within it's limitations it takes great pics and I am satisfied with it. At 1st it felt heavy, but as I got use to using it, I stopped noticing it. I bought a holster case with shoulder strap that my camera will fit in with this lens attached. It's so nice to not have to lug around my big bag and my other lens. No need to change lens for closeups and farther zoom shots. The lens seems to be good quality and is a joy to use. I wish I could have got this lens in my bundle when I got my Canon T3i, but it was not included. I'd read that Sigma makes a much cheaper version but I decided to stick with Canon after I tried the Sigma lens and didn't like it. Maybe the Sigma lens I tried was defective, I dunno. But from some reviews I've read, this Canon lens out performed the Sigma. I'm happy with this lens.

I got this lens from a suggestion of a friend. My Canon T3i DSLR came with a 18mm-55mm kit lens and a 75mm-300mm zoom lens here at Best Buy in a bundle. But this lens is much better for closeups and portrait shots with better sharpness and low light performance than my kit lens. It's small, light weight, and seems to be well made though the lens is plastic. It's a good addition to my camera and the price is right.

Good Camera for a Newbie

This is my 1st DSL camera and I got it for a great price at Best Buy. I got the bundle with Camera, bag, extra zoom lens, and SD card. It took awhile to figure how to attach the lens. You have to line up the white dots, and it will snap in. Then I had to figure how to pop up the flash. The flash won't pop up manually if it's in the auto setting. You have to move the dial into one of the manual settings. The flash with pop up automatically if the light is low. Even with my limited knowledge with DSL, I took good pics. Some were blirred, so I know I still have a lot to learn. But I'm happy with this camera and know I will have many fun days out taking pics. It's a good camera for a beginner and it will grow with you. It has many features I still have to learn to use.

I got this lens at a great price in a package bundle with my Canon Rebel T3i. Camera. I'm new to DSL Camera's and had some getting use to with this lens and my camera. I had a problem attaching this lens at 1st, till I got the hang of it. The zoom is Ok for what it's for...it's only 4X magnification. I had to figure out there is no motorized zoom. You have to manually zoom things. But the pics were crisp and very sharp. As was stated there's no stabilizer with this lens but at this price one cannot complain. With a little care, and steadiness, one can take very good pics with this lens.

Must download drivers to use
By aredamkrik from Plano, TX
Any time I want to use this flash drive on a new computer, I have to download the driver onto that computer. I haven't seen a flash drive that wasn't automatically recognized in a while. Windows 7 can't even read it without downloading the drivers. Also, finding the driver on Sandisk's website is not all that easy. The driver is labeled with 98 as if it were a windows 98 driver.

I like this flash drive
July 25, 2010
I have no idea what the previous poster is talking about. I'm not sure he's talking about this particular drive. I bought this drive yesterday and I use it like the other 2 flash drives I have. I plug it into my USB port and the drivers install automatically. I'm at a lost about his comment that he has to download the drives online. He must have one of the other models of SanDisk Flash Drives, not this one. My only reget is that It's not a 32GB drive which I intend to get next. Good drive, from a good brand. I do like SanDisk drives. I think they're a cut above most.

Great Little Recorder
By jazzman1 from Middletown, USA
This is my 1st digital recorder and I'm delighted with the performance. I thought the price too much, but I tried cheaper recorders from other brands, and was not satisfied with their performance. I love this Sony recorder. I usually like most Sony products.
This recorder has performed as advertised and I am very pleased with the results. To get the full benefits you have to go into the "detailed menu" to setup all the options. The included instructions are not clear on how to do this. Many of the features are set by default to off. As a previous reviewer stated this recorder does have "voice activation", It's set by default to off....you have to go into the "detailed" menu to turn it on. I like the fact you can add an SD card. I put in an 8 GB card that I use for music, e-books, etc., and I use the built in 4GB internal memory for voice, meetings, lectures, etc. You can switch between them in the detailed menu. There was a learning curve for me with this Sony product, and I'm a semi geek and very tech savvy. The included instructions leave a lot to be desired. I recommend everyone to download the instruction manual to your Pc, with the included USB cord. You will see much on how to use this product that is omitted in the included instructions. I purchased "Energizer" rechargeable batteries, and I use an outboard charger I already have. You can get batteries and a charger for AAA batteries for about $20.00. The rechargeable batteries will pay for themselves in a short time, especially if you use the recorder a lot. I also intend to purchase a small case to hold the recorder and cords.
I use a Aux. cord that I plug into the earphone/output Jack, then into the AUX input jack in my car. Most newer cars have Aux and USB inputs, and I can play the sound from this recorder through my car speakers. All in all I think this a great product, I didn't give reliability the highest rating because I've never owned a digital recorder before, but since it's a Sony, I expect it to live up to the Sony rep. I didn't give ease of use the highest score because many will be unsatisfied with using this recorder if they don't go to the detailed menu, or are not tech savvy, and don't download the instruction manual. After I figured how to get to the "detailed menu", using this product is a breeze.

I'm not sure you can change sensitivity on vob. I know if you use any of the scene options, all settings will be made automatically. You can't change anything. To be able to change different settings for recording you can't use any of the scene options (meeting, lecture, etc) because all the setting are pre set with each scene selection. Actually I took this recorder back and exchanged it for a more expensive Sony recorder, the Sony ICDAX412 ($ 85.99) Glad I did. Even thought this is a good recorder, the 412 is much better and I got it for only $5.00 more on sale..

Step up to high-speed USB 3.0 and transfer your videos, photos and files up to ten times faster than standard USB 2.0 drives. SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive takes the wait out of moving, sharing or backing up big files~now you can transfer a full-length movie from your laptop to your flash drive in less than a minute. Password protection lets you keep your private files private, while still being able to share generously with family and friends. And, with a sleek, sturdy SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive in your pocket, you won~t need an internet connection to access those photos and videos any place or any time you want. For more than 25 years, SanDisk has been known for quality and reliability all around the world.

this product claims "write speeds up to ten times faster"

I have the Sandisk Cruzer 2.0 --this Sandisk 3.0 claims to have "write speeds up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0" what does this mean ---does it literally mean that you can key words/write 10 times faster?
The speed of the USB3 Drive will depend on different factors of your Pc. You "must" have a USB3 port on your Pc for this drive to work at faster speeds. It will work in USB2 ports but it will only perform at the USB2 speeds. If you have the proper USB3 ports on your Pc, you should see faster speeds.

Receiver doesn't work.

My blue light on the receiver just blinks and I have no sound out of the speakers. What's the fix?
If you just bought it, take it back to the store for exchange. If it's under warranty call your service provider. If it's an old reciver out of warranty, take it to the repair shop.

monthly payments?

I wanted to purchase a smart tv but ive been hearing i have to make monthly payments on the tv to access the internet and apps.My questions is do i have to make payments for the smart tv if i own it? And how long do you think a smart tv will last?
Never heard that before. You have to pay for your internet service but there should be no fee for your TV to connect to the internet
