Good HD Receiver

This is my first HD radio after getting rid of my satellite radio due to costs. I live about 35 miles from most of the stations that have an HD signal and I get them loud and clear. To use in a car, I bought a 6 foot cable at radio shack to "extend" the headphones. Even though I plug it into my aux in on my car radio, the extra cable works well since it is the antenna for the radio. I also use my better headphones instead of the ones that came with the radio. They weren't the best quality, but they were ok.
What's great about it: Good sound quality, good reception
What's not so great: included headphones could be better quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

What about a wind-up radio?

Having been through many power outages and battery shortages, I'm interested in a wind-up emergency portable radio. What's your advice on this? Does Best Buy sell them? I understand the Red Cross had endorsed something like this.
Being an amateur radio operator, I definitely recommend a "wind-up" radio. You can find good quality radios just about anywhere. I would recommend that you get one with TV audio and a Weather band. But any of them work pretty well. This eliminates the need for batteries and you generally get about 1-3 hours of use by "cranking" the generator up for about 60-90 seconds. Hope this helps.
